Uncle Karl loves gaining life, but he loves gaining YOUR life most of all.

Sort of a simple idea:

-Start strong with Karlov and do as much early damage as possible as you gain life and make uncle Karl jacked.

-Then, when the game slows down and people get their defenses up hold Uncle Karl back and just let him hit the gym and become as big as possible. This has a few advantages. One, he is a great defender against attackers. Two, you can use his counters for excellent removal. Three, win condition with Essence Harvest.

-Use drain and gain to slowly bring your opponents down and bring yourself into the 100's of life while uncle Karl beefs up and wrecks attackers.

-Once you have a good supply of mana, your opponent's life force is starting to dwindle, and you have a couple of bombs in your hand like Debt to the Deathless, Exsanguinate, etc. you can blanket wipe all (or at least multiple) opponents out at the same time. Leaving the few survivors dangerously low and to be picked off by your drain and gain as your favorite uncle stands guard.

-Unblockable Uncle Karl with Rogue's Passage.

-Felidar Sovereign

-Sanguine Bond / Exquisite Blood combo

-Aetherflux Reservoir

-Sorin Markov / Sorin's Vengeance combo

-And of course, the slow and very painful drain and gain while you sit at a near untouchable life total
