"Jadar, Nephalia's foremost ghoulcaller, had a problem. There were so many corpses to dredge from the Morkrut marsh that his wheelbarrow was insufficient. Jadar had never met a problem that necromancy couldn't solve, so he scoured the marsh until he found the corpse of a massive turtle. A little magic made it even larger, and then a lot of magic reanimated it as the perfect beast of burden—both cart and horse. Calling the creature "Gorex," it now serves as Jadar's primary means of transport."

Why Gorex? Show

Gorex is my favorite new legendary from the midnight hunt set. I think the flavor for the card is a 10/10, and I also think it has pretty good potential to be a fun commander. His ability to exile cards in place of paying his mana cost (down to 2 black) is powerful, while not being overbearing. His secondary effect that allows you to pull the exiled cards back to your hand makes it even more fun! 2 black for a 4/4 death touch beater with the ability to recur various creatures is a dream commander for people like me. I love playing around with the other zones in commander, and the grave and exile are both SUPER fun zones to mess with.

Strats Show

This deck is meant to be a casual deck that can still take home a few wins now and then. There aren't any infinite combos (that I'm currently aware of) in the deck, and it's main win con is just to beat someone to death or outvalue them to death. We can spawn some tokens, force discards, and beef up our field with re-animation spells that make cards like Sheoldred, Whispering One one-four mana. We don't have a lot of ramp because we aren't really going to need it. A lot of our stuff comes out for less than 4 mana, and so it's pretty easy to play three or four spells a turn by turn 5.
