GOOOOOOOOOODDDD MOOOOORRRRRNNNNIINGGGG STANDARD 2021!!!!!!!!

Yep that's it goodbye War of the Spark (you won't be missed). Hello Rampathon Ugin Show anyway here's your weekly-ish dose of a different deck in standard (that isn't ugin). Anyway this week's voted card is Omnispell Adept, a freecasting card, that for whatever reason, I have never seen any play. So hopefully, this will convince you to play it. This weeks deck is much more jank than last weeks deck Cracking the Enigma (Standard hidden Gems#2) (seriously that deck was amazing). Anyway so without furtherado lets take apart this deck.(also poll for next weeks at end)

Hi I'm moo and welcome to a new series I've got called Hidden Gems, I've made it because alot of people overlook the standard format because the card pool is smaller, and others who play standard and only play Simic or dimir flash, But to that I say touché. In this series I will make one standard deck a week made of cards I've seen play maybe one or 2 times ever, (often never)the decks will range from Oh my word why is noone playing this to a janky card:Glimmerbell combo. So I hope I hope you enjoy and come back to see this every week (if you don't I'll send the duolingo bird after you)
This weeks winner is Omnispell Adept a 5 cost human adept(to this day I've still got no clue what an adept is) who you can pay 3 mana to win the game. Unfortunately being able to win on turn 5-6 with little setup is too bad for standard. Oh wait I meant it's amazing and that this card is a bit ridiculous. Omnispell is quite tricky as there aren't that many infinite combos or similar you can work with in standard (also I'm not really a combo player and don't really know much about that side of magic). It was rotimislaw who asked for Peer into the Abyss as a wincon on week 1, so that's kinda what I ended up doing here. Anyway you can probably get the jist of this deck ypu get out omnispell adept and freecast a massive rediculous spell and win the game. We have 2 main way of winning following an omnispell. Milling your opponent with Teferi's Tutelage+Peer into the Abyss, or 21 damage to the face with Fiery Emancipation+Sundering Stroke. So let's grind out how this deck functions with the technobable. If you think you is bigbrain and know all the cute interactions skip to the end.

I should also mention, this deck is very changeable. For last week I spent way too long on a hyper geometric distribution calculator to get the numbers right.

This is actually quite difficult with this deck. With a low creature backup, only 7 removal spells and no enchantment removal, in best of 1 you would definitely need to run more removal (so everyone on Arena) but I find that this kinda works in best of 3 on Xmage so I'm sticking with it (and you can't stop me) the 2 spells that do stop you dieing are really good though

Extinction Event: This will nuke red rush and green rush, and often slap izzet blitz. Not that good against lifegain but, meh it's a good card.

Heartless Act: Great removal spell I love both options

The 2 other creatures are 2 4 drops that help ramp, fix mana and dig deeper. Their main purpose however is to act as lightning rods/targets for Neoform. I don't think I need to go through these as it's not too dificult to get, but play them based on your situation. That's what's key

Teferi's Tutelage: I hate this card soooooo much. I cannot stress how much of my soul has been taken away by this Ugin and uro. Anyway nevermind this isn't a mill deck as per say so I don't have too much against it. This on turn 3 is ideal, it'll let you dig to the combo and have the combo on the table.

Imagine this, you have a tutelage on the table and the omnispell on the table. All you need in your hand is either Peer into the Abyss and you win. If you target yourself you draw lets say 25 cards. Your opponent mills 50 cards and loses

Or maybe you cast Emergent Ultimatum(this was the other build-around card and is really fun to come up with lines for) You go get Peer into the Abyss, Sundering Stroke and Fiery Emancipation. Whatever they choose they loose. If they choose the abyss. You deal 21 damage with the latter 2, if they choose the latter 2 they loose by getting milled out.

Obviously there are more that 1 line with the ultimatum. You could go get Tutelage, the abyss and fiery emancipation, thus setting yourself up for next turn. Winning. Maybe you want to get another omnispell, or a sideboard card that will reck your opponent day. Basically it's awesome and you should totally change the sideboard as I'm rubbish at making sideboards.

After winning, stand up, take a bow as your opponent flips the table

So yeah, this deck is very disruptable, it is quite easy to beat. Will it get you to Mythic on arena. Probably not, but does it win a decent percentage of the time. Yes. Is it super funny. Yes. Is it 1 and a half weeks till rotation. YES. And is card:Omnispell Adept the best card ever printed: NO.

Hidden Gems rating: 6/10
