Big Overhaul —July 4, 2020

The deck has been going well, however it has been feeling to unstable recently. Decided to go for a slightly slower, but more resilient list.

Out:

Auriok Salvagers, Birthing Pod, Conjurer's Bauble, High Tide, Lion's Eye Diamond, Manifold Key, Necropotence, Oakhame Adversary, Reality Shift, Spellseeker, Trinket Mage

In:

Drown in the Loch, Eldritch Evolution, Incubation Druid, Memory's Journey, Path to Exile, Pemmin's Aura, Preordain, Runic Armasaur, Seedborn Muse, Verity Circle, Zur the Enchanter

Nifty stuff, the Bomberman combo line is particularly hilarious. People will not expect that from a Thrasios/Tymna Scepter deck, pretty sneaky.

Definitely try to fit in a Narset's Reversal at the very least and see if you can also make some room for Abrupt Decay .

There is a better way to win the game with infinite mana in this deck. You cast Copy Artifact to copy Scepter, exiling Noxious Revival . Then, you cast Angel's Grace and repeatably cast Windfall to deck everyone with only cards you should already be playing in the deck.

PhyrexianGameplay: I'm familiar with the Angel's Grace + Windfall line. You dont even need Copy Artifact . You can just draw your entire deck, play and get Windfall back then do it again (as you should be drawing more than 50 cards each time). It's a very strong win condition, however I have always struggled to put Windfall into decks. Not that it's bad, I think I just prefer other card advantage over it. Plus in our playgroup we just rule Day's Undoing as Timetwister (since nobody feels like dropping $2000+ on a single card), so I effectively get all of the Timetwister loops anyway.

yes, but windfall is a wincon, timetwister isn't. also, if you were playing all of the twister loops, you would be playing Thoughtseize and splashiok. Also, you should be playing Abrupt Decay , which is a staple in cEDH.

I already have win conditions in the form of Reality Shift , Assassin's Trophy or Swan Song loops and Walking Ballista . I want to be careful not to saturate the deck with win conditions. I've also seen the Ashiok, Dream Render / Narset, Parter of Veils , however I'm not running this as a proactive hate deck but instead focusing more heavily on combo. That's why I'm running things like bomberman and Birthing Pod . It may not be the most optimal for the typcial cEDH combo heavy metas, but it's howe I enjoy playing the deck.

I have Abrupt Decay in the maybeboard already, however I routinely come up against stuff that needs removing at a CMC higher than 3 (mostly creatures). So that's why I've opted for Swords to Plowshares over it.

And I had already swapped Gitaxian Probe back into the deck.
