First game with Prosper —July 27, 2021
Got together with friends last night and played a few games. I got to take Prosper for a test run and here are some of my thoughts and observations from last night's game:
- I got really lucky, and basically every card I exiled with Prosper was a land. There were a few times were I wished he exiled some instant speed removal.
- Revel in Riches was helpful as a potential alt-wincon. Should have played it instead of Etali during one of my mid-game turns, since a board wipe was dropped the turn after Etali came down. Hindsight is 20/20.
- If Prosper gets removed, the deck can be a bit rudderless if you don't have other Impulse Draw engines on board.
- Luck of the shuffles, but the only theft pieces I drew into last night were You Find Some Prisoners, Etali, Primal Storm, and Author of Shadows
- The deck might need a bit more spot removal, or one more wipe. Am currently considering Blasphemous Act or Dead of Winter since my basics are now Snow. Also considering Fire Covenant since it is instant speed, fairly cheap, and can hit a lot of creatures.
- Swapped out Grim Hireling for Draugr Necromancer. I think Grim Hireling would have a tougher time generating treasure in my meta, where boards can get creature heavy pretty fast. I think Draugr Necromancer's graveyard hate would have a bit more mileage in my meta where graveyard strategies are becoming more prevalent.
- I think having a Vampiric Tutor or Demonic Tutor will be some non-budget upgrades for the future.
