So much passion.

This is the most fun edh burn deck you'll ever play. I promise.

It's simple. Hidetsugu + x2 damage = kill. The name of the game is odd numbers. Hidetsugu deals half the life totals ROUNDED DOWN. Which means if youre at 21 and I activate Hidetsugu, you take 10 damage, now you are at 11. Likewise, if Hidetsugu is dealing x2 damage and you're at 21, you take 20 and are now at 1. So how do you deal with odd numbers? More odd numbers. Now as you look at the deck you'll see a lot of odd numbers. Take your opponents down to even life. Put yourself at odd life. Make everyone have even life totals and burn with your opponents! Whatever you gotta do, champ.

So now you see why the deck is loaded with spells, and effects that deal odd damage, as well as X spells that can split damage (just in case anyone is left at 1). You can throw them at your opponents or even yourself to make the dream work. The other notable wincon mentions are Grafted Exoskeleton and Hidetsugu's Second Rite . Blue decks are the biggest weakness, hence all the blue hate. Always kill the blue players first and stare straight into their eyes as you tap Hidetsugu.

All this being said, yes. It is a glass cannon. Yes, it is a strong deck and it does work. And yes. This deck is capable of consistent turn 5+ wins, has many turn 4+ wins under its belt, a couple turn 3+ wins and is capable of turn 1 and turn 2 wins. It is fast, and in all the time that my playgroup has had to get used to it being around, it still wins its fair share of games due to it's sheer speed and power.

The deck loves to win in a blaze of glory and is only suited for the most reckless of players who lie awake at night imagining ways to bring a raging hailstorm of meteoric hellfire crashing down upon their opponents with no regard to their own well-being. None may withstand the massive power that is Heartless Dad-Bod Hidetsugu. To those who dare embrace the passion that is Tough Love, may you raze many life totals, may you pay all your life to treasonous ogre so that you can make your opponents wish they didn't have to reshuffle because gg, and may you kill so many people with a single lightning bolt because it's fucking hilarious.
