The goal is to drop and grow Toothy, and then flicker him to draw cards. Flickering Toothy is strong because he comes back before the draw trigger goes off, so you're essentially drawing and then gaining back the same number of +1/+1 counters on it. If Pir is in play, Toothy will come back and gain double the number of counters. Eventually, you are looking to win by dropping lab Jace/lab man and drawing your deck. Beating down opponents with a large Toothy is an option as well.

Displacer Kitten is key to this deck because it acts as a repeatable flicker effect. As such, this deck has many ways to tutor out kitten, including Spellseeker-Neoform, Sylvan Tutor and Eldritch Evolution.

Crop Rotation can look for Homeward Path as tech against Gilded Drake. Otherwise, it usually looks for Ancient Tomb or Emergence Zone. Muddle the Mixture can look for Neoform, Gilded Drake, Sylvan Library, Mana Drain and Cyclonic Rift.

Interesting combos/synergies:

Toothy + Brainstorm/Sylvan Library - because of how Brainstorm/Sylvan Library are worded, you actually draw the cards so Toothy gains 3 counters with these cards.

Toothy + Mystic Sanctuary + Ghostly Flicker - stack the triggers such that when Ghostly Flicker resolves, the Mystic Sanctuary resolves first then the Toothy card draw. You can repeat this and draw off of Toothy as long as you have enough mana to recast Ghostly Flicker.

Pir + any planeswalkers - ETB and +loyalty abilities add an extra counter.
