A deck I have been working on for a couple of years now. Tony Tron was originally a budget Tron list I built to be able to play Tron away from the standard eldrazi Tron and green Tron lists. Playing 8 mana ugin and 7 mana karn was financially not an option so I built around 6 mana ugin and the cheaper karns.

Karn lattice became huge but I didn't invest into that rout because my build never really focused on the lock out side. In stead I played with scrap trawler and myr retriever 2 of my fave commander combo pieces. Then I found another mana reducer in anvil and this deck really took off.

With combo consistency becoming a primary goal along with playing through Tron hate like blood moon etc I focused more on playing the combo than the Tron. Often first time opponents mis-side or over-side for tron while the alternate grave plays are missing.

The final upgrades that brought it up to a much more competetive level wou have to be the inclusion of boseiju, mystic forge, and the new seck outlets of grinding station and alter of dementia.

Originally i didnt know they were modern legal and played spawning pit(Shudders) The increased viability with self mill as an alternate draw and the ability to play mystic forge for a more consistent stream of topdeck pulls has hugely altered the state of the deck.

As for the name Tony Tron I never played modern during the time of KCI (kirk clan ironworks) and had only heard the name before building this deck eventually when i started going to 1ks and 10ks near me people eventually started asking me "is this just KCIless KCI" and I said no this is my own build. I looked into it during my ride home and was disappointed to see the number of similarities. In the end I found myself excited that i came to build an original deck so similar to something that was so powerful! I also was proud that I brought something to life out of my imagination that was different enough to stand on its own. So I chose the name Tony Tron as my way of living another dream of cementing myself into the game I love. If players could name decks after Italian food and have it stick My alliterative title and short name could surely do something!

As for this decks future I truly believe wizards will continue to print playable cards that will either mesh with the side board or main board of this deck.

Its hard not to print cheep good artifacts. I feel once boseiju and cards like it are less prevalent in the meta this deck with flourish. The power of the new elementals is also a minor issue for this deck primarily solitude and endurance for their free instant speed ability to make plays more strained for resources.

I hope you like the deck feel free to spread the word it does well when I go to the locals around me. I currently have very little time in my schedules for ptq's and other large magic events but I hope to take this deck to larger events and bring it more visibility in the magic world.

I HOPE FOR THIS IN SOME FORM TO BE A PART OF ME THAT LIVES IN MAGIC HISTORY. PLZ SPREAD THE WORD.
