Fierce Empath and Summoner’s Pact get the cut because of their lack of early game usefulness. They are at their best when you have a board presence and mana to take advantage of. Early game I want my tutors to be able to grab Azusa or Ramunap Excavator and not have my tempo be taxed the following turn.

Nature’s Claim comes in just to give me a bit more spot removal. I’m not sure if it’s necessary yet, but I like the idea of an efficient answer to potential problems.
