Don't tempt me Wizards! I dare not play blue. Understand, I would use this color from a desire to do good... But through me, it would wield a power too great and terrible to imagine.

Well here we are. After 4 years of playing EDH, I've finally broken down and built a deck with blue cards in it. I've always liked the blue enemy pairs and and the release of Commander 2016 begged that I build at least one partner deck. Enter Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix and Thrasios, Triton Hero and their almost too good to be true synergy.

So what does the deck do? Well simple. If you can generate infinite mana, Thrasios basically reads draw your deck and put all your lands into play. We have a lot of different ways to achieve objective A. Kydele plus a great number of untap effects (like Mind Over Matter, Umbral Mantle and Sword of the Paruns) can get you there as long as you've drawn a couple extra cards that turn. You can also go with the tried and true routes of Basalt Monolith+Rings of Brighthearth or Deadeye Navigator+Palinchron or Peregrine Drake.

Now that you have infinite mana, it's time to actually win. With Thrasios, that typically means finding Laboratory Maniac or Sphinx's Tutelage to turn drawing your deck into a win condition by itself. If for some reason, you can't stick Thrasios, you can turn all that colorless mana into Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre or dump it into Dark Depths. While they're not in the deck currently, this is also where Staff of Domination or Blue Sun's Zenith can get you there as well.

Someone keeping you from the primary combo? Don't fret. Just out value your opponent with Thrasios. His ability looks terrible overcosted, but don't let that fool you. It's very, very good and you can simply play draw-go control with the option of dumping mana to ramp or draw at the end of each turn if no one does something you care about. Add in Training Grounds and you're going to bury your opponent in card advantage.

Not every set is going to have a Paradox Engine in it, but there has to be something new for us in Amonkhet right? Let's find out...

As Fortold - Well this is the sweetness isn't it? I don't think it's for us, but I expect you'll see it on the table a lot. It's an unique and powerful of effect and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up playing it in a lot of decks (maybe even this one).

Censor - Look, I love this card, but you need your counters to work. Always.

Curator of Mysteries - Well this is... interesting. With all the Windfalling we're doing, this is going to dig you a lot deeper. I like that it also has cycling on it's own, but I'm concerned it's only really good in a narrow instance. I think it warrants testing, but it'll be hard to find a permanent spot for it.

Kefnet the Mindful - Well... this DOES draw your deck with infinite mana. Maybe it's better than some of the other options out there, but having Thrasios, Triton Hero in the command zone means redundancy is less important here that usual.

Pull from Tomorrow - Instant speed, can draw three or more cards, or just draws the whole deck with infinite mana. Playable, but not as flexible as other options.

Vizier of Tumbling Sands - Well, we're always looking for untappers and this has some really coold added functionality with cycling. I'll be playing it for sure.

Commit / Memory - It's a counterspell or interactive answer on the front end, Timetwister on the back end? Uh... yeah, auto-include.

Benefaction of Rhonas - We like enchantments. We like creatures. I think the chances you whiff are just too high to justify this.

Harvest Season - Well, we're running lots of dorks and this can easily be better than Cultivate with a couple creatures on the board. Will be testing.

Vizier of the Menagerie - Good card is good. Not sure we have room for it and our creature count is a little low, but this could still be very, very good.

Nissa, Steward of Elements - I'm really amused by the idea of how easily this deck slams her with 10 or more counters on turn 4 or five. Scry 2 is powerful, but I think this is a card that would be fun to play, but there's simply no room. She doesn't further our actual game plan.

Weaver of Currents - Tapping for two is good. Three mana dorks are bad.

Spring / Mind - It's kind of like Cultivate on the front end. It's an instant speed card draw spell on the other side. Neither side is very effective though, so it probably misses the cut.

So that's it. Deck picks up some solid new cards and a few options if you want to get creative. What are you playing?
