Introduction

I had recently discovered the deck that won Brian Kelly the 2015 Vintage Championships: a Bomberman deck that used Oath of Druids to summon Auriok Salvagers, which, with Black Lotus and Pyrite Spellbomb, could create infinite mana and kill his opponents. I was enamored with the rapidity and efficiency of Mr. Kelly's deck, and so I asked myself a question: "What are the most interesting ways in which we can use Oath of Druids in EDH?"

This decklist represents my best answer to that question.

Why you should play this deck

You will find this deck lots of fun to play if:

• You like to cheat out creatures.

• You like to play fewer creatures in your decks.

• You like to win games early.

• You like to take advantage of your graveyard.

How to begin the game

Look for ways to get Oath of Druids into your hand. If you already have the card in your opening hand, then try to get it out as soon as possible. Cast mana rocks, and play defensively with counterspells.

How to win

This deck wins by infinite combo. The most important creature in the deck is arguably Auriok Salvagers. The creature takes artifacts from the graveyard, which is filled up quickly by Oath of Druids. The primary target for Auriok Salvagers is Lion's Eye Diamond, a combo that creates infinite mana. Going further, Sunbeam Spellbomb has a converted mana cost of 1, and is, therefore, a target for the Salvagers. Targeting Sunbeam Spellbomb with Auriok Salvagers allows players to gain infinite life (if they have infinite mana), and draw into the other infinite combo.

The other two creatures in the deck, Deadeye Navigator and Gray Merchant of Asphodel, also serve as a way to win with infinite mana. By repeatedly bouncing your good friend Gary, you can drain out all opponents and win the game.

Another win condition lies in the stormy combo of Aetherflux Reservoir + Bolas's Citadel + Sensei's Divining Top (or Necropotence instead of the Top). This combo allows you to cast your entire deck and gain a lot of life while doing so.
