Necrotic Sliver Pauper EDH Deck

This is a Mono-Black Pauper EDH Deck.

I know the general is Black/White. Don't worry about that. Yes, yes, there are white cards... here, let me explain.

This deck wins with the standard Mono-Black combination of Drain Life effects and Pestilence triggers, just like any run of the mill Crypt Rats PDH deck. However, those decks have a lot of trouble running creatures to block and attack with because it makes Pestilence so much worse and they can do basically nothing when an opponent has a problematic non-creature permanent on the board. By switching to a White/Black build, we dilute our mana slightly in return for a much more versitile suite of answers for when we are setting up our win. The effect is a deck that has huge amounts of inevitability, and about twenty all-purpose removal spells. The game-plan comes down to the following interactions.

Necrotic Sliver + An Army of Terrible Slivers and Changelings: Instead of the old standby Black Creature Removal package we have a bunch of low-impact, inefficient creatures! Opponents will have to think twice about attacking into our army of (mostly) useless creatures with Instant-Speed Vindicate bombs strapped to their weird, pointy faces.

Guardian of the Guildpact/Auramancer: We should really call these cards Guardian of Our Busted Pauper Wrath Effect and Pestilencomancer, since that is just about the only thing you ever want them to be doing. As long as Pestilence is in play you can control what creatures get to be on board, and that is what a control deck wants.

Scholar of Athreos,Servant of Tymaret, Blood Tithe: Not only does an active Pestilence mean you get to decide what creatures stay in play, but it also serves as an effective method for actually killing all of your opponents at once. As long as you can swing your life above theirs by at least one point the card has actual no downside. The deck capitalizes on cards that say "Each opponent" and "gain life equal to the life lost this way" while rolling with a gameplan that keeps everyone alive until you zap them all in one turn.

Dimir House Guard: This card fetches almost anything we could ever want. Pestilence and/or Guardian of the Guildpact, Mark of the Vampire, Sisay's Ring/Ur-Golem's Eye, Strands of Undeath, Blood Tithe and Aphetto Dredging all play different roles and work a toolbox to keep us reactive and alive.
