Creature (1)

Current Status: Not Played

Some people say that EDH decks, the 1v1 decks even more, are personifications of their players. With the amount of possibilities the players have, they always choose the approach, commander and each card in the way they like it the most.

If this is true, and I believe it is, this duel Geist EDH is what I'm like. One may ask, why exactly Geist?

To answer that question, we need to analyze the deck. Put aside the personal preference and let's look strictly at the upsides and downsides of this deck.

Geist EDH decks, in general, have one main advantage. Being tempo decks, they are able to change their tactics according to the opposing general. Having the choice to act as an aggro deck or as a control deck is what makes them that good.

Having in mind that our commander is Geist, who is a creature that is able to win the game just by itself, the rest of deck is built around it. Counterspells, spot removal, digging and other abilities together create a shell that protects its commander and deals with opposing threats.

And all of those points are reasons why I enjoy playing this commander and the deck itself.

There is Storm Crow included in the sideboard for the really hard matches.

As always, feel free to comment. Constructive criticism and suggestions are always welcome. If you like the deck, give it +1. Thanks for any feedback!

Yesterday I played at local EDH tournament. After 5 rounds which were best of 3 and where I played against decks like Prossh, Skyraider of Kher, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Skullbriar, the Walking Grave, Surrak Dragonclaw and Talrand, Sky Summoner I ended in competition of other Geist decks, Venser decks and some others on 2nd place out of 22 with score of 4-1. I am very satisfied with this result, as my only loss was a finalist of last year's World Cup qualification.
