I wanted to make something that wasn't ludicrously expensive by EDH standards, while also making a deck a little outside my comfort zone.

The star of this deck is most certainly Mechanized Production, which singlehandedly makes the deck usable. Being able to win based solely off of the artifacts present is awesome, and combos really well with the fact that nearly everything in the deck is an artifact.

The commander, Padeem, is pretty good, especially considering the easily accessible high CMC artifacts in the deck. At the same time, making the deck work for maximum annoyance, there are a number of upsetting cards in here to generally make the game more difficult for your opponent, like Mindslaver, Platinum Angel, and Rising Waters. While this deck houses mana artifacts up the wazoo (Alloy Myr, Sol Ring, Palladium Myr, etc.), the opponent is much less likely to be so well prepared.

The last advantage of the deck is very high synergy. Most higher cost cost cards will give some bonus to other artifacts, or are powered by other artifacts, or can be cast with other artifacts, making this a very cohesive deck. The goal is to stay alive long enough to get off Mechanized Production on some token artifact, and then ramp. Ramping happens pretty early, so it's a good time.
