Changing My Deck to Golgari —April 12, 2019

After roughly a year of resisting the change that people have made to purely play Golgari Elves I decided to switch to see what they hype was about. Major changes are-

Mainboard -4 Windswept Heath -1 Temple Garden -3 Chord of Calling -3 Nettle Sentinel ->Considering running 2 mainboard

+4 Blooming Marsh +1 Elvish Clancaller +4 Elves of Deep Shadow +1 Lead the Stampede +1 Horizon Canopy -> I am planning to trade this for a Cavern of Souls

Sideboard -1 Reclamation Sage -1 Phyrexian Revoker -2 Rest in Peace -2 Path to Exile -1 Choke -> May Return -1 Burrenton Forge-Tender -1 Selfless Spirit -1 Remorseful Cleric

+2 Assassin's Trophy +2 Thoughseize +1 Fracturing Gust +4 Leyline of the Void +1 Lead the Stampede

My previous Abzan list is listed here- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/there-will-be-elves-abzan-edition-spring-2019/?cb=1555066976

Hey darndizzy I think he fits better in a shell with larger creatures and/or more sacrifice effects. The biggest elf in our current shell is a 3/2 so Pelt Collector might get a trigger or two but won't get massive very quickly like he does when paired with Vexing Devil or Death's Shadow.

Also, he is best when played on turn one, but in our deck we prefer one to play Elvish Mystic, Llanowar Elves, or Heritage Druid on turn one because they lead to more explosive turn 2 and 3's. Even Nettle Sentinel works better because he untaps whenever we cast a green spell so he can be used for convoke, tapped for mana using Heritage Druid and possibly even attack all on the same turn.

This is just my opinion for my build, but I am keeping an eye out to see if anyone uses Pelt Collector in elf decks in the future. I think it could go well in a mono green elf deck because they care more about being stompy rather than going wide and doing direct damage with Shaman of the Pack.
