The Weatherlight (Full Flavor EDH)

Commander / EDH* Five Color Jank Theme/Gimmick

Honor the brave who fought, Honor the dead who fell, Honor the world they saved.

I saw the Spice 8 Rack's Full Flavor Nikya EDH deck, and ever since I've wanted to build a 'full flavor' deck. My issue was that I never had a theme I was truly attached to, until I saw the new Gerrard, Weatherlight Hero and began thinking about the old stories, before planeswalking power rangers and the same dragon being the villain for far too long. Some of magics most riveting storytelling, The Weatherlight Saga. From there, I began brewing.

This is a janky legends deck featuring the good guys from the Weatherlight crew, utilizing cards revolving around the story of Gerrard's journey that began with the Weatherlight expansion. Thanks to the new Sisay from Modern Horizons, the deck actually works a bit, as all the creatures in the crew are legendary, which is exactly what she cares about. If you enjoy this deck and all of it's flavor fun and mechanical mediocrity, please consider giving it an Upvote. This is currently the only flavor deck I've made, but after the experience of making this one, I'm thinking about doing some more.

All of the lands in this deck feature art depicting Dominaria, most of which are from sets contained within the Weatherlight Saga. A few, such as Caves of Koilos are important landmarks within the story.
This contains at least one card depicting each member of the crew. For the uninitiated, they are: Commander Gerrard Capashen Captain Sisay Hanna, ship's navigator Tahngarth, first mate Orim, the ship's healer Ertai, wizard Karn, engineer Mirri, deck hand Crovax, deck hand Rofellos, deck hand Starke il-Vec, deck hand and guide Squee, cabin boy Multani, Maro-Sorcerer

While less than half of them would live to see the war won, they all played an important role in the story.

In this section is dedicated to Urza's masterpiece that would finally bring an end to his (second) archrival, Yawgmoth. With Gerrard's soul and Karn's body being required for the legacy to function, a second iteration of both a featured here. I used the new Gerrard, since it's mechanic is fitted around his death, and a planeswalker version of Karn, since it was the moment that Urza's spark was transferred into him. Also included is Urza himself, as his genius would birth the Legacy, as well as his eyes, both parts of the Thran Powerstone, being required to power it. I settled on his black-bordered edtion, but I'm still on the fence about replacing it with Urza, Academy Headmaster . He was decapitated during it's activation, after all...
This one is everything else, an event, action, callback, or reference to the story, as well as some favorite cards with art depicting our heroes.
