New Side Combo: Infinite Reflection —Feb. 11, 2018

Added another combo to the deck, for the lols. Cut Anticipate for the combo, which is worth it because its a great combo.

I'm crying laughing reading the description oh my God+1

Is Storm Crow secretly this deck's true commander?

chosenone124 says... #4

No. God Crow is.

SecondDeath777 says... #5

Ah. So he is. Anyway, with Sydri gone, I want to make God Crow fearsome in combat in a fashion that isn't table talking everyone into agreeing he's an Infinity/Infinity with trample, double strike, vigilance, can block any number of creatures, has 40 Godsends on him, etc. That's all good and fun, but I want something...official. Any chance you could toss an Eldrazi Conscription in?

When an aura or artifact is animated, it can no longer enchant or equip to a creature. If I attached a dozen Eldrazi Conscriptions to the Crow, they would fall off once Starfield of Nyx went online. I would have to find buffs that are neither auras nor equipments :(

Ahem.

Starfield of Nyx

That says NON-AURA, yes? Maybe I missed the part where that's negated?

Oh, & Time Stop to ensure you can have a clean, uninterrupted reaming of whoever violates the supreme commandments of Demon God Crow, He Who Paints The Earth Red.

Excellent catch. I will look into Eldrazi Conscription. Annihilator infinity does sound like a very scary creature. I'm going to scroll through gatherer for other ideas first

So here is how I can clone Conscription. First, I would need to get Clever Impersonator off the field. I would reanimate it as a creature, and I would choose to copy nothing. Because of the Starfield of Nyx and Enchanted Evening combo, it would be a 4/4 creature. When I Fated Infatuation it, the copies would enter the battlefield as anything I want.

I'll shoot this description in, and the aura I decide for the God Crow in a few days. Current choice: Infinite Reflection, Celestial Mantle, Eldrazi Conscription

Pleasure to be of service. Also, could you tell me how to make the text differ from the card like you did for God Crow?

[[Storm Crow|God Crow]]

April 8, 2017 5:13 a.m.

God Crow. Huh. It works. Thanks, man. GG.

April 8, 2017 9:29 a.m.

But I see one flaw with that theory. An aura's target must be chosen on the stack, so this can't happen naturally for Clever Impersonator, as it is not an Aura spell. If you're lighting quick, I think you can hit it with Aura Finesse before state-based tosses it into the boneyard, as several cards seem to be able to do all kinds of song and dance before the rules set in. Hope that works. The rules text on gatherer even says you don't have to target a legal aura as you cast it, so if state-based actions are working against you, you could always target the aura that's about to be there, making it illegal on cast, but legal on resolution.

April 8, 2017 9:57 a.m.

Forgive my spamming, but another card you may want in here is Erase. I'm sure I don't have to explain why.

April 8, 2017 11:16 a.m.

And Beseech the Queen so Perplex's transmute could grab a tutor.

303.4f If an Aura is entering the battlefield under a players control by any means other than by resolving as an Aura spell, and the effect putting it onto the battlefield doesnt specify the object or player the Aura will enchant, that player chooses what it will enchant as the Aura enters the battlefield. The player must choose a legal object or player according to the Auras enchant ability and any other applicable effects.

Clever impersonator can copy Auras just fine.

"A card with monocolored hybrid mana symbols in its mana cost has a converted mana cost equal to the highest possible cost it could be cast for. Its converted mana cost never changes. Thus, Beseech the Queen has a converted mana cost of 6, even if you spend [3 black] to cast it."

April 8, 2017 4:37 p.m.

Huh. I'll be damned. I fucked up, huh? Anyway, maybe Intuition instead of Beseech, and use it to grab three tutors, including Increasing Ambition, so if it doesn't go to hand, you're still good. That ought to do it. Also, Merciless Eviction might make a good panic button for this deck. Sorry if I'm saturating you with my input, I'm just so interested in this deck.

I like this overall but there is a Mindslaver ruling telling than you CAN NOT choose cards from outside of the game if you control another player. That means that part of creating new game while choosing other players decks from outside wont work.

Eh, I guess it's the Archangel's Light combo or bust then.

When I have time, I'll remove the section where they Death Wish their cards from outside the game. The Shared Fate technique where you Death Wish your own stuff and give it to them works at least.

I'll replace it with a side combo where you turn all their permanents into Storm Crow or something

I feel like the more legendary way than priest of gix to get the infinite mana is with Rasputin Dreamweaver. He is a human, after all.

Y'know, if you get them to agree, you can put their decks on top of your library, and get them to draw them with Shared Fate.
