I am liking how this deck is developing DaringApprentice! I have been looking at buying the Ezuri, Claw of Progress precon for a while because I like his effect and the deck has some good cards. Do you think it would be a good base to go off of if I decide to do Vorel instead of Ezuri at the helm?

Thank you, UnleashedHavok! That's an interesting thought, the first thing I saw when looking over the Swell the Host precon is that there are only 10-15 cards that involve counters. This can be problematic if Vorel is helming, since without counters to double, Vorel is basically dead weight. There are a lot of quality cards in the precon, notably Solemn Simulacrum and Eternal Witness, but if you want synergy, I think Ezuri does a much better job. The large number of high-quality weenies is essential for triggering Ezuri's ability as many times as possible. Ezuri also has an inevitability to him that Vorel doesn't, since the experience and +1/+1 counters will pile up, and your opponents can't interact with the experience counters. I think both Vorel and Ezuri work well in the 99 when the other is helming the deck, but as far as using the precon as a shell, I think you're better off having Ezuri helm it with Vorel in the 99.
