Agadeem's Awakening//Agadeem the Undercrypt —Nov. 20, 2020

With the release of Commander Legends I find myself yet again in the sad corner of Parasitic Mechanics. I was really holding my breath for some form of Infect support, but I suppose it may happen as likely as a return to New Phyrexia. So, my focus is on a card that i've been curious about for sometime:

This seems like an auto include (for almost any deck) as it can take the place of a swamp. I'll acquire a copy in the near future to try out, but in the mean time i'd like to hear if anyone else who keeps up with this deck has tried out Agadeem's Awakening  Flip and if they've got any interesting stories to share in the comments. Thanks for reading - and don't forget to leave a +1 - if you haven't already.

Abysswalker, (love the name by the way) I always appreciate a nice compliment. This deck is always a work in progress for me, as infect is a mechanic I really enjoy. Unfortunately, it's a parasitic mechanic that Wizards is hesitant on supporting. I'm hopeful that the Commander Legends set will have something that can help the mechanic flourish and improve it's viability in EDH.

Hey, nice deck!!! We have the same taste :D

I am building something very similar, but for Duel Commander (since that's what is played where I live). Unfortunately that means I cannot use a lot of good cards :(

Check it here and let me know your feedback! https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/esper-control-infect-copy-1/

I will later look closely through your deck for inspiration and comments.

Eckat, thanks for the compliment. My goal with this deck is to push Infect as far as I can with the restriction of maintaining a Phyrexian aesthetic and flavor, for the most part anyway. Some concessions have to be made in that regard as Infect is a parasitic mechanic that doesn't have that much support. My hope is that the upcoming Commander Legends will have some good Infect permanents I can swap in to improve the deck's functionality. Or, even better we actually return to New Phyrexia in an upcoming set and Infect returns with an even higher power level. One can only dream.

Thanks again for the nice words, I'm honored you'd use my deck as a reference. I'm taking a look at your Sen Triplets deck, and will definitely give my own two cents. Good luck with your upcoming games.

Yop, the Sen Triplets deck will need to get updates, since I went to the tournament and it lacked interactions. I need to put back more black removals and blue counter spells.

In the meantime I am focused on my THE Praetor deck where I splashed some green, this one is more similar to yours :)
