I think I've got it —March 10, 2019

So, after playing this deck in my playgroup for a bit my friends would give me pointers and suggestions. Last night we played "Wife Swap" where we would swap our "Signature Decks" (Basically the decks we care about - the ones we want to continue improving) and see what it's like to play against them. I piloted a "kinder" version of Derevi, Empyrial Tactician that didn't have all of the oppressive Stax artifacts like Static Orb, and goes for a more creature ETB flickering tool box with the likes of Lavinia of the Tenth and Roon of the Hidden Realm being part of the 99. It was a blast locking down and shutting out players.

However, when it came to playing against Atraxa...I held nothing but pure concern over that deck. It was aggressive, and warranted alot of attention. It was like watching a big scary storm build up across the table...and everyone maintained focus on it - mostly because there's the potential to be WTF one-shotted with infect damage so everyone was constantly hosing it. But nothing was more painful than an awful little card known as Maze of Ith. That card practically shut down Infect for more than a few turns. My buddy who piloted the deck said he enjoyed himself, and understood why I felt hated on sometimes. He recommended I acquire a Wasteland - specifically for Maze, but it can be used against other cards in our meta, like Gaea's Cradle. But as everyone in my playgroup knows, my weird magpie brain will force me to go for the Expeditionfoil. I'm going to make an attempt to trade up to one, so wish me luck.

Edit: I'm going for an Expedition Strip Minefoil instead. It's cheaper, and it hits all lands. It's legal in EDH!

Also, i'll eventually get around to fancying up the deck page. This one has proven to be rather difficult because I want to capture the essence of Phyrexia, but have the deck not come off as edgy - like i'm choosing Phyrexia because it "looks cool". No. I wish to spread the glory of Phyrexia for Phryexia's sake. I love my tribes, and Phyrexia is pretty awesome. If you don't believe that, then you can just go and Compleat yourself :P

To go with the infect/-counters theme you could put Black Sun's Zenith in there, along with the legendary woman.... Whose name escapes.... Who stops you getting negative counters. Also, to maybe help even the playing field would it be helpful to have something like a Silent Arbiter in there. Also, a Mimic Vat could be helpful with the Ichor Rats, or maybe add a Putrefax in there? Just ideas

LVL_666, DEFINITELY better mana and creature base. Although, in response to your identity crisis comment-literally the EXACT same thing is happening to my atraxa-infect deck. It pulls so much aggro it's absurd. I pull the deck out and before I even play anything I am the target. Unfortunately, I have been leaning towards going back to +1/+1 counters and superfriends/planeswalkers because then at least I got to play haha. Maybe keep in a few cards with infect such as Blightsteel Colossus, Tainted Strike, Phyresis, Corrupted Conscience, Glistening Oil and maybe Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, Caress of Phyrexia, Blighted Agent, and/or Phyrexian Swarmlord just for those instant infect kills. I play against a sliver deck and he kills people with poison more than i do. Sadly Atraxa-infect is not competitive enough and is hated way to much to be fun :(. Here's my deck Atraxive Infection, in case there are any cards in there you may be interested including that you haven't; but like I said... I think I am going to go a different direction so I can actually play her and have fun again. Let me know what you think!
