Hello,
This is a deck mostly built around changelings, with mill as the main win-con. The idea is to have
Ruin Crab
in play in multiple copies thanks to
Glasspool Mimic
and
Absorb Identity
(with several changelings in play, targeting the crab) and then playing something like a
Fabled Passage
and/or
Roiling Regrowth
to mill by a truckload.
The only other card in the deck that mills is
The Binding of the Titans
, and that card works really well because it mills both players, accelerating our win-con and placing creatures in our graveyard for
Masked Vandal
, it removes problematic things from the opponent's graveyard, and then it can bring back a
Ruin Crab
or a
Fabled Passage
to our hand. Of course if there's a
Elder Gargaroth
in there it might be the right call too. There is only 2 copies of
Elder Gargaroth
because the deck is not really trying to win with creatures, but having something that strong to copy with
Glasspool Mimic
is really worth it. The deck can struggle against flying so he helps a lot there.
A wild scenario would be having a bunch of changelings in play with a
Elder Gargaroth
to target with
Mystic Reflection
(a very underrated card imo) to then bounce with
Absorb Identity
to turn all my changelings into that huge monster, and having at least one of them produce a 3/3 beast that would instead appear as another
Elder Gargaroth
!
Not the most competitive deck I'll admit, but it's always nice to randomly turn 5 changelings into ruin crab and milling half the opponent's library just with 1
Fabled Passage
. Or when someone attacks you with a bunch of big stuff and you bounce their biggest thing with
Absorb Identity
so that everything else runs into a brick wall that used to be a handful of small changelings.
Something worth mentioning is that
The Bears of Littjara
can turn your changelings into 4/4 permanently , which means that if you copy a
Gigantosaurus
your 4/4 changelings will still be 4/4. However that can help you if someone attacks you with 2
Healer's Hawk
because now you can bounce one, and ambush the other one with a 4/4
Healer's Hawk
.
Isn't it great when you can be anything, but you collectively chose to all be crabs?!
