The Senate's Second Sun

Modern FNM WU (Azorius)

TapatioDorito

Sideboard

Maybeboard

An Azorius control deck focused on the long game and denying the opponent much of a board state.

The primary win condition for this deck, as the title suggests, is Approach of the Second Sun. I run 2 copies in the mainboard and 1 copy in sideboard for Fae of Wishes to grab. This deck can also win with damage from Celestial Colonnade and Hall of Storm Giants, along with Murktide Regent being a significant threat if drawn into. Counterspell + Dovin's Veto keep much of the opponent's spells away, while Supreme Verdict and Path to Exile make for effective removal of creatures. Finally, Teferi, Time Raveler slows down the opponent significantly and can guard creature threats from most removal.

Most sideboard options are meant to be grabbed by Fae of Wishes. Leyline of Sanctity is to shut down burn, and Lavinia, Azorius Renegade can stop Cascade and Affinity, which appear in my store.

In terms of feedback and help, suggestions as to new cards to run or changes to make to amounts of cards in mainboard/sideboard would be best. I'm aware that the mana base can still use changes, and that's where my priority will be going forward. Right now I have a second Misty Rainforest which I can't decide if I should slot in or not. If you have specific suggestions for that, go ahead and share them.
