-an elf deck-

There's strength in numbers when it comes to elves. The more of them there are, the more they ramp, and the stronger they can make each other.

Unlike Ezuri, Eladamri, Lord of Leaves is useful throughout the entire game. He's cheap and his powerful abilities happen automatically. He keeps the deck's mana production safe and makes the elf army unblockable.

What are the advantages to shrouding/landwalking the entire tribe?

I get that not being able to target your own creatures might seem intimidating; but elf decks spill out a ton of creatures at once, and most tribal decks already give bonuses to everyone.

It might seem different but this deck is incredibly similar to regular old "competetive" elf decks (as competetive as tribal elves can be anyway). It runs two Ezuris instead of the one, as well as most of the other usual suspects.

The main strategies are ramp, growth, and aggression. There's also a large focus on card advantage and tutoring, with less removal and mass destruction than typical EDH decks (both scant in green).

Contents

  1. Bombs and Wincons: This is the part of the deck I change the most. I tend to switch out the large creatures or mana sinks I use to try out new cards and see what fits best.

  2. Mana Acceleration: I'm sure I'm not using anything out of the ordinary here--they're elves!

  3. Card Draw: The importance of this can't be understated. The faster I ramp, the faster I need more cards to use in order to keep going.

  4. Tutors: Similar to card draw, this keeps me moving closer to a win condition sooner while opponents are getting caught up trying to do what they need (or stop me).

  5. (Tribal) Bonuses

  6. Utility: This includes a hefty defense, some removal, and a little recursion.
