"Greed is a slow and insidious killer" a quote that they had heard many times inside their own head. But if it truly were as slow as the line suggested. Then it meant that they would have the opportunity to live just a few minuts.. hell maybe a couple of years more. All that Gonti knew, was that they had to try. What was there to lose?

They were an Aetherborn. Cursed with the lifespan of a filthy fly! Eagerly searching for a way to prolong their own existence, only to wither and crumple, never to achive anything. To make a mark on the world. A potential legacy ruined. People always viewed them as evil. As a creature with no end in sight for its ravenous hunger for material goods. Always on the hunt, always in search of expensive relics and uniquelycrafted trinkets and jewels. But few understood them, few could see what yhey hungered for. You see only Yahenni had aqquired the secret to immortality, a secret for which the vampire did not share with it's race. And so.. Gonti sort a different route. The one thing that was everlasting, was the relics and items they "collected" into their vault. Throught them could they gain the feeling of pure immortality. Greed is a slow and insidious killer, yet it was also their salvation.

Gonti is a Aetherborn crime lord on the plane of Kaladesh. They run the black market and deals in shady smuggling and manipulating transactions. The Aetherborn race is cursed with a very short life, only a few of them have the ability to "siphon" Aether from living organism. Resulting in there own life beyong prolonged further. The once who are not so furtunate must find other means, to aqquire Aether. Gonti is one of those. In search of immortality this rogue sort out a Aetherheart that could contain the needed lifesource.

This mono black deck is a deck focused on the card: Gonti, Lord of Luxury! the decks gameplan is to play Gonti, and recur, blink or bounce him as many time as we can doing the game. There are many cards in the deck that supports this playstyle. Not to mention a infinite combo, where you will be able to recur Gonti from the grave infinite amount of time with Nim Deathmantle, Mikeaus, the Unhallowed and Ashno'ss Altar. The result of this is that all your opponents decks will be exiled. The loop can also be used with other haymakers like Grey Merchant, Kokushio and Junji.
