The Remains of Mirrodin

Commander / EDH Artifact

Rudkin

Maybeboard

Mirrodin lost the war, but there were survivors....

The initial thought behind this deck was "how do I survive a Day of Judgment"?

I knew I wanted to use Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer as the general for this deck, since I was a big fan of artifacts and of Metalcraft as soon as I started playing, so a chance to make a Commander deck to use that mechanic was perfect. As time went on, the deck acquired more and more equipment, to a point where I had to recently remove several.

I've been having a lot of trouble making this deck work, but I've been tweaking it and getting some thoughts from the other players at my FLGS. As it is now, I feel it needs a couple of minor tweaks, but the deck as a whole is at a point where I'm much happier with it.

In an effort to tweak the deck some more, I swapped out some of my spot-removal for more board-wipes (Wrath of God, Planar Cleansing, Rout, Austere Command, Chain Reaction, Akroma's Vengeance , etc). It is a bit like performing intricate surgery with a hammer; if there is a problem, I may as well destroy everything. So long as I have some indestructible creatures and artifacts it should work out; all of the board-wipes were chosen because they destroy instead of tucking or exiling.
