it won't make him a 12/12 when mutating on Phantom Nishoba. It wil keep all the values and Types+ Coloridentity from the top card. It just gets all abilities and keywords from all cards in the mutationpile.

Digidi as far as I'm aware he gets the +1/+1 counters but I haven't seen the official rulings. Phantom is a 0/0 that gets counters and I don't see why the counters would vanish.

Digidi just went over the article with all the rulings we have, as far as I'm aware. It says "If it had any counters on it, or Auras or Equipment attached to it, it still does."

So Phantom and any other creatures that use counters are definitely good with Mutate :)

There may be a little confusion so... Yes I switched the commander from Nethroi to the above partners. I don't think they will preform as strongly as Nethroi will but I like them more...

I really like your ETB version of these two commanders! My favorite thing about this pair is that you can build them so many different ways! I took more of a +1/+1 counter direction with my deck!

I have a deck that specializes in creatures with Modular. If you went full on artifact you could mess around with stuff like that and Skeleton Shard et al.

Perhaps ye olde Snek, Winding Constrictor, and Hardened Scales? The new The Ozolith might also fit!

Lumbering Battlement is a card that I would highly recommend. Drop it, noah's arc your creatures to boost its power by +2/+2 each, then let Yannik eat it and bring back the team.

Prospekt I'm not really sure if this is actually "coming along" at this point, lol, but I'm glad you and others like it. The creature route you are doing should be neat. If you are having trouble with linking it you may have renamed it. You'll just need to grab the part of the address that comes after the mtg-decks/ and put brackets around that. There is also a function in the deck editor to reset slug, which will change the deck's web address to the new name. If you haven't renamed it then I'm not sure, simple double brackets around the deck name like with card names should link it... I'll take a look at yours when I get the chance :) I'm a bit short on my own thoughts at the moment so maybe looking at other people's will help...

So my order came in with some of what I need to make this deck. I'm not sure I'll mess around with them much right now though since I don't have anywhere to play... If I do there will be big changes to what is seen in the deck list. I don't like the average CMC of this list.

Also I wasn't entirely sure how Blade of Selves worked with Yannik so I asked. Basically the answer is it doesn't work with Yannik. Gatherer ruling is

"If Yannik leaves the battlefield before its triggered ability resolves, you won’t exile any creature you control. Yannik’s reflexive triggered ability won’t trigger."

So that kinda sucks... However I might still find a place for Blade because there are still a lot of ETB effects in here and some pretty neat interactions with Blade. That ruling also means that people can remove Yannik and you get nothing out of it... Makes him a bit worse. I'm not really sure why they decided that other than maybe making interactions simpler. It doesn't seem like it lines up with rulings on other cards at all but maybe I'm misremembering some things.

It is maybe note worthy that you could choose to keep one of the Yannik tokens instead of the original Yannik. In which case some cool things do happen. It isn't as optimal as I wanted... But it works and it seems to work well. I guess I'm a little back and forth on how I feel about this.

Upvote! It's really cool to see the different ways people are building Nikara & Yannik. I, myself, went with a sort of Blink subtheme trying to take full advantage of Nikara as a card advantage engine. If you feel so inclined, you could check out my list here. I highly recommend Karmic Guide if you're leaning so heavily on Yannik. With the Ashnod's Altar, that's infinite mana and infinite +1/+1 counter placement!

VarietyBlack Karmic would definitely be a good inclusion. I started working on the physical deck just yesterday when my cards came in and Karmic guide ended up in an ever growing pile I have here XD. I'm just always annoyed at how much it costs... Why can't all the good things be 2 mana?! lol. I'll definitely take a look at yours :) Always cool to see other concepts.

Hows the deck running after you got the deck put together? Also what all have you changed since the initial playtesting of it?

AmbiRoar sorry to report I haven't fully put it together. Still several large piles totaling 200 to 300 cards, lol. Haven't even been out to play MTG in quite a long time now....
