ENTER THE PIT (Deck Description)

This is my third try at building The Scarab God , and I think I finally have him in a state that I enjoy! This draft is more discard themed, with less of an emphasis on tribal elements (though there still is minor tribal synergy).

The goal is to force discards until my opponents (and myself, often) are hellbent, then harvest creatures from my opponents’ graveyards and drain them to death with Scarab God. Zur's Weirding does an especially good job in this lockdown role. And of course the deck can also function as a normal reanimation deck: Entomb + Reanimate is a good way to get that T2 Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur !

MAJOR SYNERGIES/INTERACTIONS:

Bloodchief Ascension + Mindcrank = infinite life loss

Waste Not / Geth's Grimoire + Words of Waste = strips my opponents' hands

Waste Not / Geth's Grimoire + Geier Reach Sanitarium / Memory Jar /any global discard spell = absurd amounts of draw

Crypt Ghast + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth = lots of mana

Final Parting into Reanimate / Animate Dead in hand, and any game-winning creature (such as Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur or Consecrated Sphinx ) in GY = tutor any creature from deck onto battlefield, and lose life equal to its CMC

Academy Ruins + Memory Jar = repeatable 1-sided draw, plus discard triggers
