The First Sliver's Everything Tribal

Commander / EDH Casual Demons Dragons Five Color Jank Tribal

f1400

Kaleidoscope Killers spawned the idea for this deck - where to use the three sweet foil alt-art, but naturally mutually exclusive, tribal commanders? At first the deck had the Ur-Dragon at the helm but dragons are clunky and mana-costly, so I switched it to Slivers, and upgraded The First Sliver to commander for sheer value and efficiency.

The deck still needs some work, but the basic idea is to plop down the first sliver and cascade into value, and then try to get out Arcane Adaptation (or Conspiracy, in a pinch), and/or Morophon (via Seahunter, Myr Turbine, Homing Sliver.

Even if you don't, there is lots of value to be had. A couple of ninjas draw cards and bounce your slivers for re-casting (and re-cascading). Having Ramos out when casting one of the numerous 5c creatures is a 10 mana ritual. Karn's temporal sundering can bounce a sliver for more cascade shenanigans. And cascading into zero hits your Ancestral Visions for an easy draw 3.

Future ideas: adding a higher % of creatures for better chances of multiple cascades off the casting of slivers.

Thanks for looking, and all suggestions welcome!

Updates Add

A few changes: - Shardless Agent out --> Goblin Matron in. Goblin Matron is useful for finding Morophon (which then lets you cast your commander for free, etc), or other utility changelings like Graveshifter or Changeling Outcast (when you want to cascade into a zero drop for instance - roll the wheel on a Wheel of Fate, etc). Valiant Changeling is another good hit, to cascade 6 or less for 2 mana.

  • Prismatic Geoscope out --> Herald's Horn in. Gives us a bit of card advantage while reducing casting costs of most of our creatures. What's not to like? Easier to cascade into as well.

  • Contested Cliffs out --> Mox Tantalite in. Another useful zero drop to cascade into when you're firing off of one-drops.

  • Merciless eviction out --> Crux of Fate in. Slightly cheaper board wipe that doesn't touch our changelings, nor our Ur-Dragon, if we're fortunate enough to have him on the board!
