The goal of this deck is to kill yourself so hard that you in fact go full circle and kill your opponents instead.

Power requires sacrifice. Devotion requires blood. Bleed until there are barely any crimson droplets left, and at the brink of your death, you will find glory. You will stand tallest among the ruin of your enemies.

I built this because I was bored with the traditional mono-black strategies. I was tired of creature-sacrifice and graveyard recursion... I wanted to build something strange. And then Vilis was spoiled, and I felt a great joy well up inside. The greatest satisfaction I get from playing Commander is making very unorthodox builds that entertain my friends while also kicking their asses pretty decently. This is... certainly one of the more unorthodox builds I've ever done.

First off, we've got a great ramp suite that gets us our commander out ideally by turn four or five. Then, we've got our suicide cards, the cards that make us lose life as fast as possible in order to get that sweet sweet card draw. These cards include Bond of Agony , Lurking Evil , Plague of Vermin , Minion of the Wastes , and Wall of Blood . Our Psychosis Crawler will take advantage of all of this card draw by pinging our opponents into oblivion.

If you'll notice, there are no cards that give "no-max hand-size." This is absolutely intentional. What we want to do is take advantage of all of the cards we will be drawing then discarding with cards like Faith of the Devoted , Archfiend of Ifnir , Abandon Hope , and Sickening Dreams . We then take advantage of all of the cards in our graveyard with cards like Apocalypse Demon or Empty the Pits .

We'll be getting to a low life total, so cards like Magus of the Mirror and Repay in Kind will help even the odds by replacing life totals or bringing the rest of our opponents down with us.
