. The colors of friendship, hope, life, and leaving people to rot in prison until they get eaten by a wurm. Behind its kind and welcoming facade, can be just as nasty as any other color, despotic, vicious, and inflexible. Evil believes that power belongs only with the strong and worthy, and that the weak and unworthy have no choice but to accept their position in life.

This deck is restrictive and stax-y. The combo that inspired it is Dueling Grounds and Glare of Subdual, tapping creatures to restrict combat options. Prison Term and Rule of Law effects further prevent opponents from doing anything, and the really bad creatures get eaten or pushed through a wall. It's more thematic than optimized, since I wanted every card to give a feeling of unjust authority, savagery, and/or repression, if not actual evil, and there just aren't many sinister ramp cards or mana creatures, for example. A few fairly neutral cards made it in, but I'm specifically avoiding anything heroic or benevolent.

I'm also specifically avoiding any dys-synergistic effects, which is why there's no artifact mana rocks or equipment like Shadowspear: they clash with Stony Silence and Collector Ouphe, and slowing the opponents is more important than speeding up with this deck. Similarly, I decided Mondrak, Glory Dominus and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus fit the theme better than Yasharn, Implacable Earth, and the planeswalkers and Domini were more suited than Solemnity.
