This is a hidden Commander deck, featuring Norin the Wary as the Commander.

I think that Norin is too wary to just be sat, exposed in the Command Zone, where ANYBODY can see him, so I've tucked him safely in the deck where he's safe! I've had this idea for a few years now, but no Commander before really lent itself to the concept quite like Rocco does!

The deck is pretty simple:

Plan A - Norin

With us being in other colours, we get to use his regular ETBs to also gain life and draw cards! As well as to burn our opponents, of course!

Plan B - Rocco

As a creature tutor, Rocco acts as a toolbox. The deck contains a variety of effects stapled onto creatures that allow you to answer almost anything that the table throws at you.

Our first fetch with Rocco should always be Wirewood Symbiote, as it will allow us to return Rocco to our hand whenever we want. After this, we go and fetch Norin, and the game begins!

It's really about complimenting what we drew in our first few turns, and taking advantage of the various effects in our toolbox. We can ramp, draw, exile graveyards, limit attackers, destroy artifacts and enchantments, destroy creatures etc. all just by casting Rocco!

The deck used to contain more infinite combos: There was a Kiki-Jiki in there for the insta-win; There was a Dockside Extortionist + Temur Sabertooth combo for infinite treasures, leading to an insta-win; and a Vexing Shusher, to protect us while we combo'ed off to an insta-win; but honestly... It was just kind of.... Boring. Rather than focus on the Norin plan and using the toolbox intelligently, the game just turned into combo assembly. I did keep Felidar Guardian + Restoration Angel in the deck, as the ability to just win does need to be in here somewhere in case somebody gains 600 life, but their infinite ETB combo is atleast answerable by the table and not a guaranteed insta-win.

After a lot of tinkering, I think this is probably the final version of the deck for a little while.

It's fun to pilot, uses an unexpected hidden commander, and it can even win! This idea has been stewing in my head for years and I'm so glad that Wizards finally printed a Commander that could make it happen.

I'm super happy with the deck and look forward to using it for years to come!

Updates Add

Relic of Legends is EXCELLENT when we're guaranteed to always have Norin on the field, and Tocasia's Welcome ACTUALLY reads "draw a card every turn, Norin deck!"

I removed Soul of the Harvest from the deck to add Tocasi's Welcome, as the Soul will just never be a Rocco target, and Tocasia's Welcome can come down nice and early and start drawing us some cards.
