The Fifth Unit! Strixhaven Statistics —April 3, 2021

Hey there! It's been a long time since I've updated the list. I took a long break from Magic from around the release of M20 since I didn't have as much time for it anymore. Needless to say, the time is back, and so am I!

This was a HUGE update. I had to look through around six different product releases to update the deck with the latest and greatest for Wort, our resident mathematics enthusiast. I've added in Crackle With Power from Strixhaven previews since it is such a powerful (and at times, comically excessive) card for zeroing out your opponents. I've also gone back and heavily revamped the mana base. My initial idea for keeping the almost entirely basics was so the deck could still get value out of late-game ramp spells, as nonbasics would usually not be able to be tutored out with the staple ramp cards we've all grown to love. However, I've come to realize, the deck is capable of having enough draw power to circumvent dead land draws.

I'll be lumping in any new cards revealed from Strixhaven previews into the deck as part of this update. However, I doubt there will be many more changes from Strixhaven, since the set doesn't push Gruul, and unfortunately, a lot of the great magecraft abilities are either izzet or in blue, which we sadly do not have access to! But, that's alright, as this deck's core is already very fleshed out.

Lastly, thank you all for keeping up with these sporadic updates! This is a deck I've really grown to love. to a few of my friend's dismay. I'm quite proud of it, since I know no one in my personal friend group has even come close to building something as unique as this. I'll be sure to keep updating the list more frequently than before. Hope you guys are having as much fun with this as I am!

This is a great deck. I love complicated decks that are often not the norm :). I would build this deck if I didn't have my Zada storm deck. If you had a way to untap all of your creatures, you can continuously copy spells in a single turn. +1
