Terror of Mechagodzilla

Commander / EDH*

Deadpoo111

Mechagodzilla fires a rainbow-colored optical laser called the Space Beam (スペースビーム Supēsu Bīmu), which is capable of destroying objects instantaneously. The rebuilt Mechagodzilla 2, in addition to its Space Beams, was armed with a Laser Firing Apparatus (レーザー発射装置 Rēzā Hassha Sōchi) on its "back-up" Head Controller (ヘッドコントローラー Heddo Contorōrā), which it utilized after its head was removed by Godzilla.

Mechagodzilla has an apparatus mounted in its neck called the Trace Device (トレイス装置 Toreisu Sōchi), which allows for the firing of a large quantity of small missiles. This ability goes unused in both of Mechagodzilla's film appearances. Mechagodzilla possesses missiles at the tips of all of its fingers, known simply as the Finger Missiles (フィンガーミサイル Fingā Misairu) or Space Finger Missiles (スペースフィンガーミサイル Supēsu Fingā Misairu). These missiles have massive destructive power, and are immediately replaced after each shot, allowing for virtually continuous firing.

In Terror of Mechagodzilla, Mechagodzilla is upgraded to rotate its hands continuously before firing its finger missiles, granting them destructive power five times greater than the first Mechagodzilla's missiles. Mechagodzilla is equipped with time-delayed missiles in its knees, referred to as Homyu Shot (ホーミューショット Hōmyū Shotto). Similar to the Finger Missiles, Mechagodzilla's toes were armed with drilling missiles, called the High Pressure Homing missiles (ハイプレッシャーホーミング Hai Puresshā Hōmingu). These missiles were most effective when spun, as they could bury themselves into an opponent before exploding. Mechagodzilla also has several missiles attached to the inside of its mouth, however they are rarely utilized.

A shutter on Mechagodzilla's chest can slide open, revealing a device which can fire a high-power electromagnetic beam, referred to as the Cross Attack Beam (クロスアタックビーム Kurosu Atakku Bīmu). This orange-colored laser was strong enough to slice through a large rock formation.

Mechagodzilla's tail was armed with a sharp blade called the Unisot (ユニソット Yunisotto), which acted as a flight stabilizer. Although never utilized, this utensil is detachable and could be used offensively to attack an opponent behind it.

Mechagodzilla possesses propulsion jets in its feet named Jet Fire (ジェットファイヤー Jetto Faiyā), which enable flight at Mach 5. Mechagodzilla was shown to still be able to use its weaponry when in midair, specifically its Space Beams, by aligning its head to face forward.

Although not displayed in either of its film appearances, Mechagodzilla is said to be able to launch flaming, 500,000°C bullets from its nose in an attack referred to as Desto-Fire (デストファイヤー Desuto Faiyā). Mechagodzilla does possess this ability in video games such as Godzilla: Battle Legends and Godzilla: Unleashed, where it functions like a flamethrower projected from its nostrils.
Mechagodzilla is equipped with an antenna to receive the orders of the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens. A Super Radar (スーパーレーダー Sūpā Rēdā) was also attached, which enables Mechagodzilla to locate things, namely enemies, underwater and underground.
Mechagodzilla's body is covered entirely with Space Titanium, an extraterrestrial element with a strength ten times that of regular steel.

Mechagodzilla's head and neck can rotate 360 degrees horizontally. If the robot is fighting an opponent while another is approaching it from behind, it can rotate its head to face the opponent behind him to fire its Space Beams at them. This ability is also imperative to the creation of its Defense Neo Barrier.

When Mechagodzilla rapidly spins its head while firing beams from its eyes, a shield is formed known as the Defense Neo Barrier (ディフェンスネオバリヤー Difensu Neo Bariyā). This shield was effective in blocking both Godzilla's atomic breath and attempted physical attacks.

Mechagodzilla can fire two yellow-colored Laser Cannons (レーザーキャノン Rēzā Kyanon) from its eyes. Mechagodzilla becomes unable to use its right Laser Cannon after Fire Rodan damages it with its beak, although the eye is restored after Mechagodzilla combines with Garuda to form Super Mechagodzilla.

Mechagodzilla can fire a rainbow-colored beam from its mouth known as the Mega Buster (メガ・バスター Mega Basutā), which is equal in power to Godzilla's atomic breath. The Mega Buster can only be fired for a short period of time before overheating, demonstrated when it overheats and becomes unusable following a 10-second beam lock with Godzilla's atomic breath.

Mechagodzilla possesses two Shock Anchor (ショックアンカー Shokku Ankā) harpoons built into its arms, which it can shoot directly into an enemy to release a crippling electrical charge. The Shock Anchors were effective against Godzilla in the monsters' first battle, electrocuting Godzilla to the point he was foaming at the mouth. However, Godzilla's internal radiation somehow allowed him to reverse the flow of electricity back into Mechagodzilla, which set Mechagodzilla's engine on fire and disabled the mech. When Mechagodzilla was repaired, the Shock Anchors were upgraded and converted into the more powerful G-Crusher system.
The G-Crusher (Gクラッシャー Jī Kurasshā) is an advanced version of the Shock Anchor developed to destroy Godzilla's secondary brain and cripple him from the waist down. It releases a powerful electrical discharge into the opponent's body which exceeds the voltage of the Shock Anchor. The G-Crusher required the guidance of the psychic Miki Saegusa in order to pinpoint and target the exact location of Godzilla's secondary brain. The G-Crusher completely destroyed Godzilla's secondary brain and crippled him, and nearly allowed Super Mechagodzilla to kill Godzilla before Fire Rodan intervened.

Mechagodzilla can fire Paralyzer Missiles (パラライズ・ミサイル Pararaizu Misairu, lit. Paralyze Missile) from two three-cell rocket launchers on its shoulders. 60 Paralyzer Missiles can be loaded at a single time. These missiles were used to stun Godzilla during the monsters' first battle before Mechagodzilla used its Shock Anchors against Godzilla.
In addition to its Paralyzer Missiles, Mechagodzilla can fire Tranquilizer Missiles (トランキライザー・ミサイル Torankiraizā Misairu) laced with anesthetics and tranquilizers from ports on both of its hips. Super Mechagodzilla used these missiles to stun Godzilla before targeting and attacking his secondary brain with the G-Crusher.
Mechagodzilla's strongest weapon is the Plasma Grenade (プラズマ・グレネイド Purazuma Gureneido). Mechagodzilla absorbs Godzilla's atomic breath with the Diamond Coating on its armor and converts it into plasma energy, which is stored and amplified in a port in Mechagodzilla's abdomen before being fired back at a target with even greater force. Because the Plasma Grenade generates a tremendous amount of heat, it cannot be fired continuously and must be treated with an extremely strong coolant. If Mechagodzilla's Diamond Coating melts, it will be unable to absorb plasma from enemy attacks and use the Plasma Grenade. The Plasma Grenade is tremendously powerful, capable of knocking Godzilla down or mortally wounding Fire Rodan in a single blow.
Mechagodzilla can use its jets to suspend itself in the air and attack enemies with its weapons from a distance in a maneuver known as the Hover Attack (ホバーアタック Hobā Atakku). This is a very effective attack for Mechagodzilla, as it lacks maneuverability and effective close-range combat abilities. After merging with Garuda and becoming Super Mechagodzilla, Mechagodzilla's flight abilities are improved, and it uses the Hover Attack in conjunction with the G-Crusher.
Mechagodzilla is protected by an armor plating made from an alloy called NT-1, which is covered in an artificial Diamond Coating (ダイヤモンド・コーティング Daiyamondo Kōtingu), the same coating used for the Super X2's Fire Mirror. This Diamond Coating renders Godzilla and Fire Rodan's heat beams completely harmless, and also allows Mechagodzilla to absorb energy from the beams to power its Plasma Grenade. However, extremely high temperatures like those emitted by Godzilla's nuclear pulse after absorbing Fire Rodan's energy, can cause the Diamond Coating to melt, disabling the Plasma Grenade and leaving Mechagodzilla vulnerable to Godzilla's Uranium Heat Ray. However, Mechagodzilla's armor allowed it to take repeated hits from this beam, which reached a temperature of 1.2 million degrees Celsius, before it was finally knocked out of commission.
As Super Mechagodzilla, Mechagodzilla can utilize Garuda's High Power Maser Beam Cannons (ハイパワーメーサービームキャノン Hai Pawā Mēsā Bīmu Kyanon), which are powerful long-range Maser Cannons. Super Mechagodzilla used these beams as part of its Hover Attack during the final battle with Godzilla.
Kiryu is equipped with the Type-99 Double Maser Cannon (99式2連装メーサー砲 99-Shiki 2 Rensō Mēsā-hō) or Twin Maser Cannon (ツインメーサー砲 Tsuin Mēsā-hō) a Maser Cannon mounted inside his mouth. While the cannon's output is relatively low, the Twin Maser beams possess 240% of the destructive power of the Type-90 Maser Cannon. The cannon is powerful enough to harm Godzilla if targeted at his face or chest wound.
In Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla Kiryu is equipped with dual wrist-mounted high-speed Type-0 Railguns (0式レールガン 0-Shiki Rērugan). In Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., these are replaced with improved Type-4 Railguns (4式レールガン 4-Shiki Rērugan). In both cases, these railguns are relatively low-powered compared to Kiryu's other armaments, and they are typically used as preemptive strikes and in conjunction with other weapons. Kiryu eventually sheds his railguns in his battles with Godzilla. Modified Type-3 Kiryu's gauntlets are tipped with two-pronged blades, and while he never utilizes them in melee combat onscreen, in the PlayStation 3 and 4 Godzilla video game Kiryu utilizes these blades as his primary melee weapon, with his punch attack referred to as Hand Blades.
A small Maser Blade (メーサー・ブレード Mēsā Burēdo)[8] is stored inside Kiryu's Type-0 Railgun gauntlets. Kiryu uses this blade to stab Godzilla and deliver a strong electrical surge directly into his body. This blade was omitted from the improved Type-4 Railguns. In the video game Godzilla: Save the Earth, this blade is larger in size and deploys directly from Kiryu's arm. He uses the Maser Blade in place of other monsters' normal grab attacks, and can lift monsters high into the air and throw them after piercing them with the blade.
Kiryu is equipped with a Back Unit (バックユニット Bakku Yunitto), which possesses dual rocket launchers and boosters. Kiryu can fire two different types of rockets from the Back Unit, while the boosters grant him improved flight capabilities and the capacity to propel himself forward into an enemy at great speed. In Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, after the Back Unit was damaged, Kiryu jettisoned the Back Unit and sent it flying at Godzilla, which pushed him backward before he finally threw it to the side. In Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., the Back Unit was modified to specifically function as a guided missile. Kiryu was able to launch each half of the back unit at Godzilla separately. While Godzilla shot the first half down with his atomic breath, the other half collided with Godzilla and exploded, which succeeded in knocking Godzilla to the ground.
Kiryu can fire large Type-87 680 mm Multiple Interlocking Rockets (87式多連装ロケット弾 87-Shiki Tarensō Roketto-dan) or MRL 2 Mk. IV rockets from the front of the shoulder-mounted cannons on his Back Unit. In Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., these are replaced with improved Type-04 MRL 2 Mk. IV rockets.
Kiryu's Back Unit is also equipped with small ballistic homing rockets which are fired from its sides. In Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, these are Type-95 470 mm Multipurpose Guided Missiles (95式470mm多目的誘導弾 95-Shiki 470 Emuemu Tamokuteki Yūdō-dan), while in Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. they are replaced by Type-98 320 mm Multipurpose Guided Missiles (98式320ミリ多目的誘導弾 98-Shiki 320-Miri Tamokuteki Yūdō-dan). These rockets are capable of striking a target from long range or while Kiryu is in close-quarters combat. In Godzilla: Save the Earth and Godzilla: Unleashed, Kiryu can fire homing rockets directly from his back.
Kiryu's ultimate weapon is the Type-3 Absolute Zero Cannon (3式絶対零度砲 3-Shiki Zettaireido-hō), also known simply as the Absolute Zero (アブソリュート・ゼロ Abusoryūto Zero), equipped in his chest hatch. As its name suggests, this weapon fires a beam that instantaneously freezes the target to absolute zero, the lowest theoretical temperature of -273.15 degrees Celsius or zero kelvin, at which all atoms cease movement. Because of this, a target struck by the Absolute Zero will be instantly frozen on the molecular level, smashing its atoms and causing it to collapse under its own weight. The Absolute Zero consumes 40% of Kiryu's energy reserves, and as such cannot be used heavily in combat. The Absolute Zero was shown to instantly freeze and disintegrate skyscrapers when fired at them. Its observed impact on Godzilla was much lesser by comparison, presumably due to interference from being fired underwater. The Absolute Zero was unable to kill Godzilla, though it did open a gaping wound on his chest that would prove critical in defeating him a year later. When Kiryu was repaired the following year, it was deemed to not be cost-effective to repair the Absolute Zero, and so it was replaced with the Type-4 Triple Hyper Maser Cannon.
When Kiryu's right arm was replaced following his 2003 battle with Godzilla, he was given the ability to collapse his right hand into a rotating drill called the Type-4 Anti-Beast Drilling Device (4式対獣掘削装置 4-Shiki Tai Kemono Kussaku Sōchi), also known as the Spiral Claw (スパイラル・クロウ Supairaru Kurō). This attack proved devastating to Godzilla when Kiryu used it to pierce the scar on Godzilla's chest and rotated it, reopening the wound and causing Godzilla immense pain.

When Kiryu was repaired, his Absolute Zero was replaced with the Type-4 Triple Hyper Maser Cannon (4式3連装ハイパーメーサー砲 4-Shiki 3 Rensō Haipā Mēsā-hō). While this attack was undeniably less powerful than the Absolute Zero, it proved crucial in defeating Godzilla, as Kiryu used it in conjunction with his Type-99 Double Maser Cannon to strike Godzilla's chest wound after it was reopened by the Spiral Claw, which critically injured Godzilla and left him helpless as the Mothra larvae encased him in silk. The hatch covering the Hyper Maser is equipped with claws that allowed Kiryu to restrain Godzilla and carry him out to sea.
Modified Type-3 Kiryu can deploy extremely strong metal Wire (ワイヤー Waiyā) from his body to bind another monster in conjunction with the claws on his chest hatch and allow him to transport it over long distances. In Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., Kiryu used the wire to restrain Godzilla and carry him out to sea, while in the comic series Godzilla: Rulers of Earth he used it to transport both Baragon and Anguirus.
