You Like Merfolk? You don't Like shuffeling? You like short Games? You like interaction and surprise? This deck is a blast to play.

This deck runs the core Merfolk creatures Merrow Reejerey, Silvergill Adept and Benthic Biomancer but switches the islandwalk plan for a more versatile and interactive aggro-control approach.

The Karoo lands Izzet Boilerworks and Simic Growth Chamber have great synnergy with Merrow Reejerey often allowing you to slam all of your merfolk onto the battlefield and lets you to discard spare lands with Izzet Charm. Also by playing your Karoo lands early you can make sure Botanical Sanctum and Spirebluff Canal enter the battlefield untapped.

Jori En, Ruin Diver is a great source of carddraw in this deck. Manamorphose and Silvergill Adept help you to hit those second spells consistently and Isochron Scepter even gives you an extra spell each turn cycle. Merrow Reejerey can get you additional Isochron Scepter activations so you might even trigger Jori En, Ruin Diver on your opponent's turn regularly.

Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca let's you break through stalls and Simic Charm allows an unblockable Kumena to deal 5 cheap, unblockable damage or protect your value generating board.

Sideboarding:

You might want to board out Isochron Scepter after you had a good run with it. Kopala, Warden of Waves and Cursecatcher can be sided in for Talrand, Sky Summoner and Benthic Biomancer if your opponent is strong on removal. If you board in Hurkyl's Recall, don't forget that you can imprint it into Isochron Scepter.

Results:

2:1 dredge - thanks to relic and bolt scepter

1:2 faeries - Turns out Thoughtseize is really good against synnergy

1:2 mono red - when it lands tails it lands tails

2:1 hardened affinity - Hurkyll's scepter is hilarious
