Wow its Been Awhile and haven't made any changes to the deck like I planned well with the new shrines coming out nows the time. (Mad that only one of them triggers on the upkeep, but I'm gonna run them all anyway) While Im at it Im gonna fix the Mana Base as well

I'm slowly making changes to this deck here Upkeep EDHthat I think will make the deck better.

I found an update list by MTGRADIO Upkeep EDH 2017 update

Basically this is a 5-Color Upkeep deck. Meaning this deck "Lives and Dies in the Upkeep". SO the Focus of course is Upkeep abilities/effects that will trigger positively for you and Negatively for your opponent.

The Commander: Child of Alara I feel after play testing this deck over and over again that this is the best commander for the deck. (Yes again this deck was not my original brain-child but whoever put the original deck list knew what they were doing.) Not only does Child of Alara provide the 5 colors needed to house this deck but creates the Perfect Board reset if things turn out unfavorably. (Hopefully that won't happen often can't guarantee anything) the best card I feel allows us to board wipe with Child of Alara is Greater Gargadon In suspend. There are other ways to do that but I will let you find those out. Child of Alara is a great deterrent on the field for people wanting to attack you. (I don't think I have to explain to you why.)

The Haze: Paradox Haze is in my Opinion THE BEST card in the deck. Its pretty obvious since this deck is Upkeep Focused you would want more Upkeeps. Don't play this on your opponents since there are little if any cards in you deck that cause things to trigger on you opponents upkeep. I would try and get this out as fast as possible by tutoring with Enlightened Tutor or Bringer of the Black Dawn Too get even more Upkeeps you can Copy Paradox Haze with Clever Impersonator and Copy Enchantment Cards. then theres Strionic Resonator that if you have 2 mana you can copy it it to get even more. The max amounts of Upkeeps I have gotten in this deck is 4 Upkeeps in 1 turn. Now Imagine that with all the Kamigawa Hondens and basically any other card in the deck. Yeah the turns can get pretty ridiculous. Caution Paradox Have is a Double Edge Sword. affects you opponent has that can trigger on your upkeep are never a good thing suck as if you opponent has Sheoldred, Whispering One you're in for a world of hurt.

Kamigawa Hondens: Honden of Cleansing Fire, Honden of Infinite Rage, Honden of Life's Web, Honden of Night's Reach, and Honden of Seeing Winds are by far my Favorite cards that use Upkeeps basically the more Hondens you have out the better since they stack on one another. Boosting each other performance to the point that if you have all five out on the field you are pretty much set in my opinion. (This is of course you have Paradox Haze out)

Authors Note I started Playing Magic the Gathering during the Kamigawa Block. When the I first saw the Hondens I knew I wanted to make a deck utiliting their strengths. (Sadly someone beat me to the punch). But being Inexperianced (and In a lot of way still am) at deck building all my attempts failed. When Paradox Haze Came out I had once again had hope for these but again failed at making an effective deck. (Both times I did not know about EDH so I was trying to build a Casual 60 card deck)

MANA FIXING: Being a 5 COLOR DECK! You're gonna need a lot of help in the mana department. Shock Lands, Vivid Lands and Lands that Produce any colors are in abundance in this deck. Then if you really worried we have Chromatic Lantern to help us by making all our Land cards produce any color of mana. Now If that wasn't enough we have included cards that double the mana each land Produces. YES I Said Double!!!!!! these cards are Mirari's Wake and Mana Reflection. so don't you worry about mana. UNLESS someone plays Back to Basics then were basically dead...

There is so much That this deck does I'm still discovering a lot of it myself. I have almost decked my self when I played Paradox Haze + Mind Unbound + Venser's Journal a lot of times so I am still learning how to run this deck. This deck messing around a lot and don't be surprised if you're turns start to take along time because of all the Upkeep triggers you have.

Be warned this deck is in no wise competitive. Its more of a durdaly deck than anything. IF you draw aggro your dead. This deck can be slow because of all the high costing cards in the deck.

Above all things Have Fun with this deck I appreciate any suggestions and I will continue to mess with the deck list. so far I haven't changed much but I do see some areas for improvement and I plan on Improving them!

Removed from Original Deck:

1x Arcane Sanctum 1x Archangel's Light 1x Crumbling Necropolis 1x Damnation 1x Garruk Wildspeaker 1x Jungle Shrine 1x Opalescence (UDS) 1x Savage Lands 1x Savor the Moment 1x Seaside Citadel
