Tatyova, Benthic Ramp

Commander / EDH GU (Simic) Lands Ramp

General description

My version of Tatyova, Benthic Druid EDH. It's a ramp/control deck and the main win conds are Craterhoof Behemoth and Finale of Devastation after you have gathered some creatures you can attack with. A notable fast way to win is also Tooth and Nail + Concordant Crossroads to tutor and give haste to Avenger of Zendikar and pump them with Craterhoof Behemoth. If the previously mentioned plan fails there are still some big token generators left like Titania, Protector of Argoth and Rampaging Baloths.

Complex plays you can do to win

The following plays will usually require a decent amount of lands in play in order to guarantee a win, with let's say a minimum of 7 (+ some creatures on board already) and up to 12. Usually you don't need 13+ for these wins unless you need mana for counterspells. You will notice that Gaea's Cradle plays a big role in these wins or at least makes them very easy to do. You can also variate the steps sometimes, but the core idea will be the same if you already have some of the needed cards in hand.

Note: if you cannot fetch for Simic Growth Chamber for any reason, you can still do this with Deserted Temple in play and untapped, if you untap Gaea's Cradle with it for the same effect.

Note: IF you have Concordant Crossroads in play, you can tutor for Green Sun's Zenith with Spellseeker.

Note: if Finale of Devastation is in your graveyard you can use Spellseeker to search for something like Regrowth, but you need to find Gaea's Cradle in some other way.

To get Craterhoof Behemoth in play could mean hard casting it or tutoring for it with any tutor that puts in play. Not the most complex way to win but a quite unusual one.

This deck also has some kind of infinite combo but requires 4 cards to work, 1 being an enchantment (which you cannot tutor for):

This allows you to put all lands from the deck in play and draw the whole library. Along the way you can also play Lotus Cobra to generate extra mana if needed. From there you can get infinite turns with Nexus of Fate and or infinite tokens from landfall triggers and win with combat damage.

I don't currently run effects like Laboratory Maniac because drawing the whole library is not the mail goal of this deck. The previously mentioned combo requires a non-tutorable enchantment to work and there are already other ways to win if you draw the library, but they require you to deal combat damage.

This is more of a test card. Using Walk the Aeons you can get infinite turns if you can replay the sacrificed islands from the graveyard. If you get Ramunap Excavator or Crucible of Worlds with Azusa, Lost but Seeking in play you can get infinite turns, but in order to advance your board you might need an extra land drop to ensure you play 1 additional land per turn. Lotus Cobra also works nicely in this. From that you can do many things and if you draw your entire library you also have Nexus of Fate in case you like double infinite extra turns.

Just don't mill yourself out because you still need to win with combat damage.

This is the way I decided to build Tatyova, Benthic Druid. I definitely understand the fact that simic has a lot more consistent ways to win with infinite mana, however I wanted the power level to be acceptable among other decent decks. I wanted to make a deck that works like a better version of my Azusa, the Promised End deck. I don't consider it competitive, but it is still a strong deck that has answers to any threats. It forces you to build a board and ramp a lot while also being a control deck with plenty of removals and counterspells.
