TAILS NEVER FAILS (YUSRI CHAOS DECK) (WIP: DRAFT 4

Saw tiffanyann made a Yusri deck. I decided to give it a shot using their deck as a jumping point.

I am going for the intended win con of Enter the Infinite into the Thassa's Oracle with some support cards from tiffanyanns deck. I want to get decent draw out with some focus on artifacts for reliable thumb pulls.

I have 7 tutors for Krark's Thumb, and 5 for Enter the Infinite but ended up not getting any of them in 3 games. It's not the best sample pool to pull from but it makes me worry about the consistency of getting the thumb out, not to mention people will counter it to high heaven since it gives you a huge buff to your coin flips. With that in mind I struggle to make Orbs of Warding, Shadowspear, and Basilisk Collar worth the include since most of my attention will be on getting Krark's Thumb and the only way to make either of the equipment's worth while is to also include the Orbs and have it out on the field. This split focus makes me not want to include any of them and to eat the damage. I think you can build a deck around this idea to be a bit Voltron with a lot of card draw and hopefully put +1/+1's on Yusri for cards drawn or spells played, but I don't think that's this deck.

I also think Chaos themed decks sit in a weird spot. They can aim for as much chaos as possible, in my experience this tends to drags out the game for too long. Or they can aim for combo/competitive decks that will use chaos as a sort of pillow fort with rolls/coin flips in their favor. I'm more of a fan of this kind of chaos because it doesn't drag out the game, but it's focus is to win. The more I play the deck, the more my aim with this deck isn't to necessarily win but to create a chaotic fun board state so no matter the power level of each deck they have a chance to win/have fun. With that in mind we're after the first kind of chaos mentioned but we want to avoid the dragged out games. So this is where our win-con/coin flip damage comes into play. We can create a chaotic board state where anything can happen and anyone can win, but when the game feels like it's gone on for too long we either Enter the Infinite into Thassa's Oracle with clear casting for a win or use Yusri, Fortune's Flame flip damage to eventually burn ourselves out; taking our chaos with us and making the game easier to close out.

THE MAYBE BOARD!!!

The maybe board is a bit cluttered. So here's and explanation.

There is things like Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Training Center for multiplayer games

Jeweled Lotus is in the maybe board because it's banned in my play group due to some janky interactions but is a good card to include.

I took out Krark's Thumb because my player group knows what it is. I'm also taking out some counters to make room for more chaos so I'm less and less likely to actually get the thumb out so why not cut it for some more wild cards.

Then there are a number of Chaos cards that I think are viable for the deck. There are more out there like wheels, but I didn't include them because they can directly counter the deck it's self. The only wheels that are acceptable are wheels like Winds of Change or Valakut Awakening   since they shuffle hands to library. The win cons must be in deck or in hand to be effective so we want to avoid discarding as much as possible.

There's a number of clone cards in here because at one point I wanted to copy Yusri as many times as possible with cards like Sakashima of a Thousand Faces to get as many chances at clear casting, and with Mirror Gallery it makes things like Phyrexian Metamorph viable in this. That's not the aim of the deck as you can basically one shot yourself with 3-4 triggers of Yusri's coin flips but keeping them around just in case someone wants to change the deck to that style.
