Taigam, Ojutai Master: Tribute to Dennis Rodman

Commander / EDH WU (Azorius)

Pking1993

This is my ode to one of the greatest rebounders in NBA history, Dennis Rodman. Taigam is all about value from rebounding spells and getting use out of them twice. Think Path to Exile, Swords to Plowshare, or Reality Shift were good as a one for one? how about as a two for one. Cantrips like Opt, Serum Visions, Gitaxian Probe, Preordain are bad in EDH, correct? Usually you'd be right, but give this to me twice over two turns for one mana, I'll take it. You'll notice a lot of islands in the deck, that is for cards like Walk the Aeons High Tide which lets me go big with cards like Primal Wellspring and any other win condition in the deck. Keeping Taigam protected is extremely important in this deck, so I like protection with all the bounce spells, counters, and cards like Reconnaissance and Maze of Ith. I love Swiftfoot Boots for the shroud, but it is a nonbo with the above mentioned cards. Running a heavy counter and removal package as this does work as a mother may I deck. I want to make sure the board is clear enough to attack with Taigam and will can remove any threat neccessary. Win-conditions in this deck include Blatant Thievery, Aminatou's Augury, Walk the Aeon's and Mind's Desire. Blatant Thievery is again a questionable cards in most cases; however, the 6 for 1 that is provided by Taigam attacking is game breaking. Aminatou's Augury is another back breaking card over two turns, being able to go essentially 16 cards deep in your library for two lands, and two of each nonland (artifact, enchantment, creature, sorcery, instant, I'm probably missing something) over two turns will near guarantee you a win. The other partial 'Win-con' if you will is Dovescape and this card is AMAZING with Taigam on the board. All your instants and sorcery's still go through and you're getting 1/1 flyer's for it while your opponents can't get value out of their deck, only birbs.
