Tactical Nuke Inbound! As the title explains, this deck can pump out some serious damage, in what can appear to be all of a sudden.

The objective is to play the commander as late as possible, while seeming as little as a threat as possible (Kinda hard when every creature in the deck can be a target, but I make it work). Then, when you have a possible 20-40 damage on the board (2-4 angels will do), then WHAM!, Aurelia and any other additional combat step (All of it flying) and you have a tactical removal of a opponent.

Cards that enable this are:

Now the first thing most people are gonna try to do is remove the angels, so here are some things to stop them:

  • Brave the Elements and Boros Charm. Two cards that can secure the win or keep the angels alive

  • Archangel Avacyn   So many games have been won because of her. An anti-kill spell or anti-boardwipe and an Angel, AND a small board damage effect (that never happens in hindsight)?? Fan-fu*-tastic

  • Kindred Boon Not bad, can be subject to removal, but overall pretty good

  • Avacyn, Angel of Hope Her name should be Bringer of Despair. If you miraculously have the mana for this, the enemy better have a control player.

  • Deathless Angel "I destroy target creature", "Nope".

  • Karmic Guide and (Insert stupidly overpowered angel name here) is Back!

There are a few other cards that do other stuff, but at this point you can guess what they do.

EDIT 1: Some Minor Optimisations now that I have played it a little:

Added Valakut Awakening   and Sejiri Shelter  , removed slow lands and added a shock dual land and a battlebond land

Removed Planar Bridge and Nahiri, the Harbinger, as they were too slow and too high profile.

Also removed Angelic Arbiter, Dreamstone Hedron and Seal of the Guildpact as they were just not useful enough for their mana cost.

Finally added Archangel of Thune, Starnheim Aspirant, and a few others to replace the removed cards.

EDIT 2: More Optimisation Changes

Removed Angelic Field Marshal, replaced with Serra's Emissary, she was very mana efficient but lacked the big bang needed for the deck

Removed Austere Command, replaced with Vanquish the Horde, Austere was a bit too cmc expensive for its benefits, and most times in commander you just want big creature removal

Removed Bastion Protector, replaced with Land Tax, real damn tired of green getting all the good ramp

Rejigged mana base to accommodate Valakut Awakening   and Sejiri Shelter  , as well as removed a couple cycling cards for other lands (because they were slow and the cycling wasn't that useful at 2 mana)

Added a 'sideboard' so I can play around with a few cards and remove Land Tax or other cards so people will still play with me. Part of this also allowed for cards like Farewell and Gift of Estates to be added as Howling Mine and Kindred Boon were put in the sideboard.

And so after 2 years, Angel Tribal is now a thing. I made some changes (Including a name change), so I won't cover them all (old cards are in the Maybe board), but new Angels are:

Angelic Guardian, More indestructible, how can I say no.

Akroma, Vision of Ixidor, Holy potatoes, what fun, now all my Angels with many instances of about every keyword get buffed. Multiple times.

Lyra Dawnbringer, Yeeeeeeessssssss.

Righteous Valkyrie, Importantly its cheap and whenever I summon an Angel I get life, and when you eventually get over 40 health (it happens, all it takes is one instance of lifelink) +2/+2.

Court of Grace, Thanks for the suggestion, now as long as another player changes the Monarch then everything is good.

And so we have Angel Tribal. Just a bit sad we don't see many new Red Angels but oh well, can't have it all.
