Surrak Dragonclaw warrior tribal fighting theme

Commander / EDH Fight RUG (Temur) Trample Warrior

Feyd-Rautha

Hello and welcome to my Surrak Dragonclaw warrior deck. I was lucky enough to pull Surrak in one of my prize packs from winning the Khans of Tarkir prerelease and I really liked his unique ability to provide trample for your army (though annoyingly he himself does not have trample, haha) and the ability to shrug off all countermagic pointed at you creatures. On rare occasions people may forget what Surrak does if he is just sitting in the command zone and you can flash him in in response to someone trying to counter one of your high value creatures, fizzling their spell and blowing everyone away with your advanced magical sills :)
My deck focuses a lot on running out outrageously good creatures, many of which either lack trample or provide some serious utility. Hunted troll, for instance, is a card many people would consider sub-par in EDH, and it is in many situations. In this deck, however, I try to push the troll to his limit. My commander gives the troll trample, which makes him much more appealing. Secondly my deck runs a lot of fight cards so his regenerate ability actually comes in very handy. To top it all off he is a warrior so he can benefit from a couple of tribal utility cards I run in the deck: Boldwyr Intimidator and Bramblewood Paragon .
Multani, Maro-Sorcerer was pretty much made for a deck like this. An enormous, shrouded trampler that can sometimes just straight up one shot someone in large games is a card worth running. If nothing else it makes for interesting conversation and a fun memory for the slain. I was inspired by the card Savage Punch and I wanted to create a deck that revolves around the fight mechanic. The card is basically depicting our commander straight beasting a bear, the very same bear he later skinned and now wears as a oat...this guy is so badass, haha. I designed the deck to use the fight mechanic to great effect. A lot of cards in this deck have abilities that are close relatives of fight or are better upgrades, such as Hateflayer . This deck has some weaknesses, such as having few tutors and few ways of dealing with extremely large boards. The goal is to use your superior creatures to hyper punch any threatening creatures off the board with the fight mechanic before the board gets too clogged. This deck can also go very heavy aggro because several of the removal cards in this deck work at instant speed, you can go to attack one player, punch out another players best creature mid-swing, and laugh yourself to death while you're doing it all.
