Maybeboard

CoCo Variant of Stoneblade combo deck.

We sacrifice power for consistency by removing Swords, Skyclave's, and Thalia from the main in favor of Collected Company.

This is a fair competitive creature based deck predicated on Stoneforge Mystic. We rely heavily on her ETB and activated ability in order to tutor and play anyone of our powerful artifact equipments.

Order of Battle

(1). Establish a protective barrier against targeted removal, burn, or countermagic with Esper Sentinel, Giver of Runes, Unsettled Mariner, Ranger-Captain of Eos and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben during our early game (i.e. T1/T2/T3). These Hatebears can act as fodder for removal, utilities for evasion during combat and provide the much needed tax required to slow our opponents down a turn, two or three.

(2). Cast Stoneforge Mystic, tutor for Kaldra Compleat, Batterskull, Maul of the Skyclaves, Shadowspear, or Sword of Fire and Ice. It should be noted that, while casting Stoneforge Mystic blindly on turn 2 sounds like an excellent gameplay strategy, often times it's going to get removed or counter before you ever get a chance to cheat your equipment into play. So unless you have a way to protect her or the opponent is light on removal or countermagic playing fast and loose is an ill-advised strategy, regardless of how tempting it might seem.

(3). Play/Cast our big shit and turn it sideways for combat damage. We should always leverage our utility creatures for evasion whenever possible.

(4). Win.

Strategy

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Unsettled Mariner - punishes non-creature decks during the early game. Either creature also works fantastically well with Esper Sentinel as we can tax aggressive burn, or mid-range/slow control decks during crucial T1/T2/T3.

Giver of Runes and Ranger-Captain of Eos are excellent utility creatures that help protect Stoneforge Mystic. Ranger-Captain is a fantastic enabler, as it can help with fetching any one of our utility creatures, protect our creatures/spells, filter our deck, and even apply early game pressure thanks to Noble Hierarch.
