This deck is of course built around theft and clones. It is a "Control" deck in the most literal sense. I built it for 'fun' and casual play but I tried to optimize it for a mid-high power level table. I was mainly inspired by the different playstyle and game dynamic it offers. Players might hesitate to play their most powerful creatures if they know we can just steal them, especially if we have enough mana for Dragonlord Silumgar . If you don't see any high-power on-theme cards that you would run in this deck, it's because this deck has a "budget".

The primary theme of this deck is gaining control of things, and just cheating opponent's stuff onto our board in general. cards like Agent of Treachery and Blatant Theivery can take any permanent you want.

While I was building this deck, I questioned the purpose of building any sort of "destroy" removal, but I decided to keep just three cards that read "Destroy target creature" (mostly because they are just more efficient than the "control" based effects) namely Feed the Swarm for it's versatility.

I do not have any cards that recur things from this deck's own graveyard because I thought building around that was silly given how many card types are in this deck and how there are no consistent "Return any card from your graveyard to your hand" effects in . I figure that if we really need stuff in our yard that bad we can just Phyrexian Metamorph an opponent's Eternal Witness or Memory Plunder another opponent's Regrowth .

Cards like Rags / Riches and tempted by the Oric are meant to hate on lots of small things at once, as those are beneath Silumgar's notice and not worth taking. Any functional board wipe in the deck also fulfills this niche if tokens get too out of hand.
