Pioneer port of my beloved Tarkir deck.

It's hard to believe it has been five whole years since the best deck ever came out (I'm not biased, I swear). Ever since Pioneer was announced, I've been scrambling to rebuild my Abzan deck from Khan's Standard. As everyone and their grandma knows, Abzan (also known as Junk) is all about undercosted threats and the flexibility to answer threats as they show up. It doesn't hurt to whirlwind slam Siege Rhino after Siege Rhino as well. A good portion of the creatures are bigger than they cost, and almost all scale well into the late game. Of course, I couldn't build Abzan without running the greatest of Khans, Anafenza, the Foremost.

It's nice to have something that's beefy, promotes attacking, and hates on graveyard strategies in the main. She's backed up by lions and tiger demons and rhinos, oh my! The creature base is rounded out by Archangel Avacyn   and Warden of the First Tree, which many people I played against slept on... until beefcakes was laying the smackdown.

The removal suite is your run-of-the-mill goodstuff, with Abrupt Decay and Assassin's Trophy being able to hit the tricky stuff, while Abzan Charm and Dromoka's Command being able to do so much more than kill things. Fatal Push gets the nod because it is nuts, and Thoughtseize is every combo deck's boogeyman.

Gideon and Gideon are there for multiple angles of attack, all though the multiple angles still include swinging out. They also provide some much needed breathing room for all the shocks we take for the lands; in the form of lifelink and tokens, not to mention tricks and anthems.

TLDR: Play Siege Rhino and 56 other cards!

As always, questions and comments are appreciated, advice and suggestions are demanded, and happy tapping out!
