Colossus uses an esper equipment theme to build a value engine with cards like Vedalken Archmage, Sram, Senior Edificer, and Puresteel Paladin along with mana rocks and cost reduction effects to ramp into lots of equipment before equipping them to some of its namesake threats like Blightsteel Colossus and Darksteel Colossus.

The deck runs Sen Triplets as its general to both accrue value by gaining card advantage and also to disrupt opponents hands. Additionally, because of the reputation of this commander it can draw out many of the answers that would otherwise threaten the main plan of getting in with a Colossus. Sen Triplets also have the bonus of showing you your opponent's hands and letting you play out their answers against them so that you know when it's safe to suit up a threat to end the game.
