Sek'Kuar Sacrifice - EDH

Commander / EDH BRG (Jund)

Glaspo

Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper seemed like a pretty sweet Commander, and I wanted to make a deck for him to call home. A deck that synergizes well with him, and I was not disappointed!

Sacrifice outlets galore are included, and come in various forms, such as creatures (Dark-Dweller Oracle, Tymaret, the Murder King, Disciple of Griselbrand, Varolz, the Scar-Striped, etc.), enchantments (Vampiric Rites), and artifacts (Witch's Cauldron and Witch's Oven). There are also a couple other, one-time sacrifice effects, such as those of spells/ETBs like Village Rites and Disciple of Bolas. Sacrificing with Sek'Kuar is two-fold: benefit from the sacrifice with the effect itself (drawing cards, gaining life, etc.), then get those 3/1 hasty creature tokens from Sek'Kuar.

These sacrifice outlets/effects are great alongside of all the "steal opponent's creatures" spells that are also in the deck, cards like Besmirch, Traitorous Blood, and Mob Rule. Steal their dude(s), attack them with their own, and then if their creature(s) survives, sacrifice them!

There's green so there's ramp. There's mana dorks (Llanowar Elves, Elvish Mystic, and Llanowar Dead), as well as other noncreature ramp spells (Rampant Growth and Cultivate). One particular ramp card that synergizes well with the numerous 3/1 tokens Sek'Kuar will be providing is the enchantment Cryptolith Rite.

Then you have some straight removal, both spot removal (Tragic Slip, Victim of Night, Go for the Throat, etc.), and boardwipes (Blasphemous Act, Plague Wind, and even Reiver Demon). Overall, these help hold you over until you accrue tons of 3/1 creature tokens and/or drop some of your fatties.

Speaking of fatties, we've got those too! Mostly consisting of demons, not only for their powerful effects, but for some flying as well. These include Reaper from the Abyss, Bloodgift Demon, and Butcher of Malakir (who is not a demon, but is perfect for the strategy of the deck!).

That's all there is to it! Sacrifice your own creatures in order to OWN any opposition!
