[[rapid hybridization]] —April 9, 2014

I've added Rapid Hybridization for testing purposes. While my creatures aren't particularly fond of fighting against 3/3s, they typically can at least trade. And turning a Master of Wavesfoil offline or a Stormbreath Dragon into a blockable token is a much better upgrade from my perspective. It also gives me a way to deal with Obzedat, Ghost Council, Blood Baron of Vizkopa, Agent of the Fates, and more.

Now we add in the numerous bounce-effects I have in the deck and you have some really nice synergy. The last part of relevancy here? I can (in a pinch) turn my mana dorks into 3/3's to push through damage and/or to evolve my Shambleshark a first or second time. Hooray!

1st to upvote.

Dictate of Kruphix

could be quite good here as a repeatable source of card advantage.

I think with this version Courser of Kruphix isn't as good as before. This version is more aggressive and a 2/4 that gains life isn't exactly aggressive.

I also feel that way with Kiora, the Crashing Wave . I love Kiora too, but she's better fit for a much more midrangey deck.

I would love to read a deck tech BTW.

First!

Ok time for some talking:

Numero Uno: It almost seems like your trying to do to many things. You have slow 7 drops (Rift), 6 drops focused of drawing cards (Prime Speaker) and 2 and 3 drops focused on putting on the beats. I would sorta consolidate, a blue green agressive deck with a curve topping out at 4 seems very good. U/G midrange is also a cool thing but then we're looking at your other deck. Trying to do too many things was the reason I retired my other Junk Aggro deck.

Numero Dos: Now we have to choose a path, we could go the mono green aggro with a blue splash for cards like Simic Charm and Shambleshark , this means additions like Kalonian Tusker , Aspect of Hydra , and Experiment One . Sadly this also means we have to cut some lands some rifts and some Prime Speaker Zegana , and you have yourself a fully functional aggro deck. This is probably a strong deck.

Box two contains many of the same things as your other deck so I'm not going to go into as much detail.

So part of me feels very out of place saying this as I am know where near your level of a deck builder, but there are my thoughts! Thanks for being awesome and plus 1 because yeah!

P.S. I mentioned above I had retired my junk list, now I'm playing Explosive Growth | RUG Midrange if you would take I look!

I'm so excited for that card. It will almost certainly find a spot in here somewhere. As will Kruphix if he isn't another disappointment like Karametra... -_-

Courser of Kruphix is basically an answer to opposing aggro. Simic simply cannot race a Mono-black aggro deck or burn deck without being a mono-blue variety or mono-green variety -- and I don't want to run either of those. Surprisingly, she becomes very relavent as an attacker once I have 5 mana up (to bestow a boon satyr), and as a 6/6 at instant speed she really wrecks face. The card advantage is great too

She synergizes with Kiora, the Crashing Wave by allowing me to see my top card before drawing it with Kiora. Kiora is perhaps not the most powerful card in the deck, but she is part of the glue that holds it together against other midrange decks. If they can't get through to kill her, she even becomes a win-con. But I can see the argument against her as well.

I always love your decks, and deck techs, and look to them as sources of inspiration. Looking forward to the evolution of this deck (poor Simic pun intended)!
