Samut and Kogla: a match made in heaven —April 3, 2020
Just wanted to share that Kogla, the Titan Ape is going to be crazy good in this deck: His first ability will surely kill a threat from the table. Great value right out of the gate. His second ability slots right in with the “on attack” package, and scaling with multiple attack phases. However, it's his 3d ability that's sneaky good here, as that synergizes well with some of the Humans in the deck.
- He can serve as another way to abuse Mangara of Corondor. We can put Mangara's trigger on the stack a few times with our untappers, and then just return him to hand with Kogla before any of the triggers resolve. We can also recast, activate and bounce him as long as we have the mana and haste.
- He generates infinite mana with Ley Weaver haste and the cradle, given we have enought creatures.
- He opens up another way to get infinite combat phases through Combat Celebrant, mana dorks that provide at least 5 mana, and haste (similar to how we can go infinite combats with Aggravated Assault).
- And we can always return our commander or one of the other humans to save the King when he's threatened with a kill spell.
So super happy to see this card :). I'm also adding Giant Killer as a decent instant removal option that's fetchable with Ranger of Eos while not getting in the way of Primal Surge. Also added Sun Titan in the deck, as I feel the deck could use a good recursion card after my last few games.
