My LGS wound up closing early today, so I didn't get in as much testing as I might have liked, but the games I did get to play were full of amusing moments, and interesting synergies - using Godo, Bandit Warlord's triggered ability to get around an opponent's Blind Obedience and untap the two samurai I'd cast that turn (to trigger Cathars' Crusade and Door of Destinies) stands out, because I won that game a couple of turns later; turns out even fairly mediocre creatures are pretty great when you combine them with a bonkers aggro general and good support cards (and not all the on-tribe or in-block creatures are turrible).

Also, everyone having to lean over and read just about all of my cards (because who runs samurai?) was pretty funny; the guy sitting next to me game one (who was a fairly new player) had never even realized that was a tribe in Magic, and seeing them prompted an off the cuff, mostly joking question about whether ninjas existed as well, to which he received an answer he clearly wasn't expecting judging by the look on his face when I told him what they did.

I think the deck is pretty much done, other than maybe swapping out some of the off-tribe creatures as time passes depending on what new cards come out, or (and this would my dream scenario), Magic returning to Kamigawa in a new block so I can have more samurai! Alternately, I could just replace the ones I have now that kind of suck (but not enough for me to not run them, unlike the ones I could be running now that I'm not). Until/unless that happens though, my silly tribal deck is exactly where I want it to be (apart from upgrading the mana-base if I get my hands on the dual-lands that should be on the list now but aren't because I'm cheap).
