Sacrificial Vampires

Commander / EDH

Hiver285

So Commander 2017 had the amazing Edgar Markov and couldn't pass on the opportunity to make a Mardu deck with a Vampire Theme. Looking through the vampire list there were three choices. 1) Aggro Vamps (tends to be heavy in red and black and looking to spit out as many tokens and modify them for winning. 2) A control vamps where thinks such as Olivia and Kalitas can't spot remove problems and reach critical mass with an Edgar active. 3) A midrange variant where we have the best of the best and use other effects in magic to gain an advantage. I chose option 3 to add variety but to also be in tune with my play style.

This build is about exploiting your creatures for a massive benefit. In addition, vampires tend to do a life drain effects and I found that Exquisite Blood is a perfect card to have even without the other combo. As such, manipulating our life also tends to be heavy in this build and its benefits far surpass the drawbacks

In this build, I would say that the Urborg, Nirkana, and cabal coffers develops an excess of mana which I like having but others may not. For this I'd recommend Urborg, Homeward Path, and Sanguine Bond (for the combo) or Vona, Buther of Magan (more vamps and vindicate on a stick)
