Varolz, the Scar-Striped costs 3 mana, is hard to kill, and kills my own guys for free. All I ever needed.

The only time I have ever used varolz's scavenge ability is to remove the -1/-1 counter from Woodfall Primus so he can persist again, or to make a creature with 4 power because I don't have one and want to cast See the Unwritten .

I love to durdle and this deck durdles hard. It ramps like crazy, chump blocks like a champion and creates massive value swings with Living Death . Sure, if you want to win, you can bring in some bad card like Craterhoof Behemoth , but why would you want to win a game? That means the durdling stops! (The usual win condition is repeated draining by Kokusho, the Evening Star and/or Gray Merchant of Asphodel .)

The likely-best card in the deck and most common tutor target is Living Death .
